You think they don't control their own prices? really? Of course they change their prices to match or change the market, but their pricing strategy is ther own choice. Nobody is forcing them to keep the prices high enough to reap record profits right now. That is pure greed.
Actually that would be their fiduciary responsibility to their share holders. They would be sued if they started undercutting the market, and justifiably so.
