Zone1 If Jesus Was A Jew

I don't know if it's an ugly word but it's illogical. What I would say is that there is no need to tell anyone his standards because they are written in the hearts of his creatures. History shows that Israel did establish standards that were higher than that of their contemporaries. History does not show that there are different standards. Standards exist for logical reasons. Deviate from the standard and the reason for the standard will reveal itself through outcomes. The illogical part is assuming standards are meant for only some of his creatures and not the rest.
Who knows why Gd does what He does? I’m sure He has his reasons.

That's not a controversy. Chapter 14 is about the controversy.
The entire book of Romans is about the Jewish resistance to accepting Gentiles into the Christian faith.

It is about the merging of the two disparate groups and the struggles to overcome petty differences such as what food the new Christians should or could not eat.

"One man's wine is another man's poison."

"romans" was written by Paul for a ROMAN AUDIENCE---he was
conferring on Romans the right to eat their usual food

all Israelites are called JEWS ---because the king that
JACOB aka ISRAEL designated was JUDAH his third son
How does having a Jewish king change the tribal identity of someone? If we have an ethnic Frenchman as president does that mean everyone in America is now French?

Paul was willing to make concessions in order to attract newcomers

It was a different time-----people were named by their founder or their
king. Jacob's name was changed to ISRAEL---the entire nation that he founded became called Israel. It was a usage at that time

The letter was written to Christians in Rome to settle some strife between the Christians of Jewish background and Christians of a Gentile background.

The Christians of Jewish background wanted all Christians to follow the Old Testament Laws and this led to disagreements over things like food.

Paul was telling the Jewish backgrounders to go ahead and observe their Jewish laws but not to begrudge the Gentiles for not following the Law.

They needed to unite under the banner of Christianity, not Judaism.

So if a Gentile Christian wanted to chow down on some bacon and shrimp, let him. It just doesn't matter.

Wild beasts? Is that how Jews see everyone else? As wild beasts?
I don't speak for "Jews".

but I don't see everyone else as wild beasts. In the kingdom of God there are the children of God, the children of the devil, angels, demons, the wild beasts of the field, cattle, sheep, goats, swine that do not ruminate, worms, bottom feeders, parasites, vultures, maggots, ghouls, goblins, ants, lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my!, teeming vermin who go down on all fours, wolves, dogs, chickens, brown nosed dorks, etc., etc., all reflecting the heights and depths of human potential.

Someone who seeks spiritual life from bread made by human hands, like you, I see having the form and shape of a human being but an intelligence just slightly above that of a monkey. I see them as unclean creatures whose vile and loathsome practices defile and contaminate the mind

Any other questions?

Oui.

The Trinity is God in His three manifestations.
I hate to break the news to you sonny but there has never been and there never will be a human being that was God or became God either before during or after their human existence. thats fact

God is incorporeal, unequalled, and there is no other God in existence either above or below him.

Same thing----it is very difficult to CHANGE the customary way of eating
for any TARGET PEOPLE----Paul wanted to spread judaism WIDELY. He,
was, afterall, the son of Greek converts

Paul was a Benjamite, although according to the Jews anyone who was not a Jew in that time was called a "Greek". This included the other descendants of Israel living in the region. Greek was just another word for gentile.

He was writing to people that were familiar with the Law. How would pagan Romans be familiar with the Law?

15th post
What is the Son to you? Is he not the deity? If so, is he a second deity? Or is he the same deity as the Father?

"Son of God" is just a relational metaphor for the Jewish man described in Deuteronomy 18:18 indicating a closeness to God above that of other prophets who are called "servants of God."

There is one God with two human witnesses who are given power and authority but are just men.

Jesus is one, whoever he is who is the Spirit of truth that God would send in his name is the other

I think he just wanted to make Christianity more appealing to the Jews he wanted to convert by essentially saying, “you won’t have to keep kosher anymore!”

I had to walk by the lobster tank at the grocery today. I always feel so sorry for them.

Just saying.
