If It Comes to Fruition, This Will Be My Third Check From Trump

The money for this isn't coming from taxpayer revenue, and the fact that Trump can give you a check means that tariffs work. The current annual pace of collection is estimated at roughly $350 billion. Since the Trump administration began implementing new, sweeping tariffs in April 2025, the revenue has increased significantly. Estimates project that just the new tariffs President Trump has levied could generate $2.4 trillion in revenue over the next decade.

Tarriffs are an import tax...

..... ..... Guess who ultimately pays the tax?

..... ..... ..... ..... The American consumer/taxpayer through higher prices.

..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... Thank President Trump for the tax hike.

well, free stuff to illegals is completely different.

do you get a tax refund? do you send it back?

reason and context matters

if you don't want any money then send it back.......simple as that

but no, you know you cashed it and in your head said thanks
Tax refunds are your own money that you overpaid during the tax year via payroll withholding(s). Why would anyone send that back?

Bull ******* shit. Taxes are mandatory and are enforced by fines or imprisonment.

Nobody is forcing you to purchase those tariffed products imported from other countries.

I didn't get the last one. But if I get a check this time, I can guaranfuckintee that I'm not sending it back.

There will be income limits as always. Those who pay the most taxes and buy the most things will get nothing, just like the COVID stimulus checks. Evidently not only do the “rich”not pay their “fair share”, they also don’t get their “fair share”.

So the $0.18 per gallon fuel tax isn't a really a tax because, well, nobody is going to force me to buy fuel for my car?

Who knew.

The money comes from the money costumers have paid in tariffs. Do you think China pays us for the tariffs on China?

Not entirely true. Part of the tariffs are paid by exporters and manufacturers by lowering their prices to US importers. That is reflected in the PPI numbers.

Tax hikes do lead to more revenue for the government. You've stumbled onto the truth there.

Then why are you so opposed? I thought you guys loved taxes? Oh wait, you only love taxes that somebody else has to pay.

If we raise federal income taxes, Americans pay for the increase. Tariffs are partly absorbed by foreign manufacturers and exporters. They are contributing to our tax revenue. This is a fact.

Personally, I don't give a flying **** how much Trump spends, because if every dollar he does spend goes into destroying your insignificant little liberal playhouse, that's fine with me. It's all money well spent, if you ask me. NO cost is too great if it keeps you jackwads from ever obtaining power again.
Ahh I see, so all of that business about being a conservative and a "strict constitutionalist" was just a bunch of lies on your part, right **** stain? LOL....
I have no rules.

Oh my dear boy...you have nothing but rules. They govern your small life and have reduced you to the hateful existence you now have.

What you don't have is character. I don't think you lost it...you simply never had it; it was too difficult for someone like you to develop so you, as always, took the dull way out.

I do think everyone should pay their fair share. Yes.

None of what you posted is true. Not one word. You're regurgitating a lie you were spoonfed by your orange Jesus.

Yeah...he doesn't have the first clue of what he's talking about. Never was that more apparent than when he brought up tax refunds.

Its bizarre that they think everyone else is as dense as they are.

You are very misinformed. Yes, it is a FACT that foreign manufacturers and exporters have eaten some of the tariffs. PPI reflects that.

"some" being the operative word.

Tariff - "some" = American Consumers are paying the rest as an import tax increasing the cost of goods and services.

Fuel distributors have to pay the tax in order to sell it to you. That is enforced by law and if those distributors refuse to pay the tax, the government forcibly shuts them down.

Tariffs on products are not a "tax." You can simply willingly refuse to purchase them.

The importers haven't passed the full costs along to the customers, yet. Nothing has been "eaten" by foreign manufacturers, stupid:

"U.S. import tariffs increased to historically high rates in recent months, raising the costs of many imported inputs businesses use. Businesses subject to these higher costs have been faced with difficult and complex decisions about whether to absorb the tariffs through lower profits, raise their prices to recover the higher costs, or some combination of both. These decisions are influenced by the degree of competition in the marketplace, potential customer reactions, and the ability to maintain profit margins, among other factors. "

What they're not eating is American soybeans as our farmers are finding out.

And guess what, the fuel distributor pays the tax, the fuel seller pays the distributor, and I pay the tax at the pump.

However I don't HAVE to pay the tax, I'm not FORCED to pay the tax - I simply don't put gas in the tank right?

Sales Tax isn't really a tax, because ya' know - I can just refuse to buy anything.

(And yes Tariffs are an import tax.)

Yes, I don’t disagree with that. But some are also being eaten by US importers. I thought Democrats liked the idea of raising taxes on corporations?

The bottom line is that not all the cost of the tariffs is being absorbed by the US consumer. That is a fact. In the case of raising federal income taxes, all of it is. It appears that the only opposition to tariffs by the left that they only want some US taxpayers to pay higher taxes, not all. Ironically, the ‘rich” typically consume more than the poor so they are still paying more taxes when prices increase. Personally, I am fine with any portion of taxes being paid by foreign manufacturers.

Most items affected by tariffs are not commodities.
