I used to think that people could just choose to be gay, so I was shaking my head about why gay Christians exist. However, I recently had my mind changed and learned that people can be devout Christians and still be gay and just not act upon it so my question is why are people born gay if it's a sin? Where does homosexuality come from if God creates everybody?
What is the purpose of intestines? Of a nose, eyes, ears, fingers? Every body part has a purpose. If someone were to pluck out an eye to use to play catch, that would be a sin against the eye, because the purpose of the eye is to see and observe. Using an eye to play ball misses the target (missing the target is the definition of sin).
Human sexual organs are the only organs a human has that needs another person of the opposite sex to complete its purpose--that of possibly creating another human.
Consider this: If a heterosexual couple uses birth control, the sex organs are being subverted from the intended purpose. It was heterosexuals who were more than likely the first to use sexual organs for something outside the intended purpose--for pure pleasure and recreation without being troubled by a new human.
If one group (heterosexuals) can decide to use parts for something outside the intended purpose and for pure pleasure and recreation, why can't another group (homosexuals) also decide to use sexual organs for pure pleasure and recreation?
The question should be: Should
anyone have sex without accepting the possibility that it could create a new human? And that question was answered a long time ago: People (heterosexuals) decided it was just fine to use a body part for something other than its intended purpose. Without being a hypocrite, no one who uses birth control should have word one to say about gay sex.
