This commandment has been modified by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Both Jerimiah in chapter 31 and Ezekiel in chapter 18 made clear that under a new covenant that he would make with us, we would only be held accountable for our own sins.

Under the old covenant, you could live a perfect life, your father could live a perfect life, your grandfather could live a perfect life, but, you could still be held accountable for something your great-grandfather did 50 years before you were even born.

Funny how people jump to conclusions. But, if one confesses that Jesus is the Christ and does not deny the Holy Ghost, they will go to heaven. But, what level or glory of heaven? Paul taught there are 3 glories in heaven. That is in First Corinthians chapter 15. Look it up. So, there is more required to get to the Celestial Glory, Kingdom, Level...

If you follow that commandment, guess what you're going to do? You're going to find out what God wants from you, and when you find out, you will do those things and walk in obedience to God. So yes.

Those who attempt to impose a heavy burden of manmade rules and regulations are in the wrong. The early church had those who wanted to impose the Jewish Law on Gentile believers, but were stopped when Paul noted that they, the Jews, couldn't even keep it. Jesus said His burden is light and His yoke is easy. Why do we try to load it up with a bunch of other stuff that He never intended us to carry?
