She only got in a glancing blow on him with her 4,000 pound vehicle. Whoever else she decided* to drive into might not have been so lucky. He's a hero who saved the life of every bystander on the scene. One life traded for however many people she may have been able to run over.

Thank God she was stopped before she did kill someone.

He was the one right in front of her who was assaulted. Anyone else shooting might have hit him.
The idea for him was to survive and protect the lives of other. She put him in the situation in which the only way to do that was to blow her head off.

As I recall, he was reacting to a poll that showed deep, almost majority, racist hostility from blacks towards whites.
Adams shocked response was that the only sensible reaction from whites to this type of deep racism, was to seperate ourselves, and avoid those that hate us so much.
That is not racism. That is judging a group based on their stated beliefs, and running away in fear based not on race, but on their stated hostility.
