What you posted is a summary and says "including slaves" meaning not just for slaves.

At the beginning of the Constitution it reads "We the People of the United States of America". I guess the founding fathers didnt think that people as stupid as you would not think every start of every amendment shouldnt need that preamble.

But because of the Democrats who had slaves before the civil war, they fought to keep slaves during the war, and then formed the KKK to keep ex slaves in terror, the 14th amendment had to provide protections against the Democrats because they didnt want free black people. Nothing has changed with the Democrat party.

As we speak arguments are before the Supreme Court that the 14th Amendment was only created to apply to children of slaves, not anyone else.

However, I think the court is going to ignore reality and rule to allow illegals to continue remaining legally in the US.....because they think it would be too difficult to enforce the law correctly.
That's 150 years of precedent at work. How can the SCOTUS admit that only now after that much time has passed that, "Oh yeah. We misread it from the start!"?

No person born in the USA of an illegal should be granted citizenship, but that requires an Amendment process.

I am not now, and never will be, okay with a President just changing a Constitutional Amendment with an EO/EA.

It doesn't have to be repealed, just clarified.

1st, end birthright citizenship.

2nd allow States to have geographical upper houses as long as they have population based lower houses, thus eliminating Morris V Board of Estimates.
 
This is a very timid SCOTUS. They seem afraid to anger Democrats.

It all falls on the meaning of "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" for the birthright part.

I'll be happy with them ruling that district courts can't order nationwide injunctions and them punting on the birthright thing.

Then they would have to revisit every amendment and bring them up to today's standards. Not going to happen.

On a side note, they're really arguing over district judges trying to block the Trump Adm from removing illegals.
I don't actually. I listened to them today. I think they are going to punt and ONLY make a ruling on whether the lower court can make a nationwide injunction. I think they are going to vote that a court's authority only controls the district it is in.

This will suck for the Second Amendment as it means cases like Heller are only valid in the district they are in.

I am 100% certain that original intent was never for somebody to be able to sneak into the United States and give birth so that compassionate Americans would allow her and all her kin to live here forever because her baby is here.
