Hell there are a shit-ton of .30 cal pistols....The most famous of which is the Soviet TT-33 and it clones.....7.62 X 25.
That one is pretty compared to my Vietnam bring-back 1936 Tula.
Like I said my example is pretty "homely".....Most of the Vietnam bring-backs are.I have a German captured 1940.

That said it still had a nice bore but the springs were pretty much shot so I ordered a spring pack from Wolff and got it up to snuff....Shoots great!
LOL, the slide pin had what looked like a nail stuck in it and peened-over so I replaced that too....I saved the "nail".
Marstar in Canada got in a bunch of WW-2 era Soviet TT-33s a few years back but they were all dip-blued refurbs.
I had one, loved itRuger made a .30 black hawk a long time ago.

I've always wondered about the Thompson Contender--heard a lot about them back in the 80-90s, not so much anymore. Interesting concept. T/C G2 Contender® Complete Pistol and Rifle System - Thompson/CenterAnything with a 7.62 or 7.63 desig is a 30 cal. Mauser Broomhandle, 7.63x25 is called "30 Mauser"
Tokarev, CZ52 use 7.62 x 25 which is a 30 cal. As Trop pointed out, the 30 carbine mauser.
All 7.62, are called 30 cal, 308 (7.62x51). 30-06 Garand is called "30 ball" Other 30 cals, 30-30, 7.62 x 54r, etc. It's the true bullet diameter not what the cal is called, for instance 38 special is actually .357" in dia, so is a 9mm luger, yet a 9x18 Mak is actually a true .38.
Yeah, lots 30 cal, still made. Don't believe everyone behind a gun counter.
Older Contenders don't stay around long when they show up at my LGS.....I had one in .35 Rem years ago and killed a couple of deer with it. That fancy passed and I traded it off.....If memory serves it had a 14" barrel.I've always wondered about the Thompson Contender--heard a lot about them back in the 80-90s, not so much anymore. I have had many of them, back with original contenders. Then mods, encores, etc got confused! In Maine the 45lc/410 was very popular. Road hunters used them for grouse and rabbit on the logging roads, illegal to shoot from a vehicle or close to the road of course. Yet they did. I had them in rifle, pistol and shotshell models.I've always wondered about the Thompson Contender--heard a lot about them back in the 80-90s, not so much anymore. Interesting concept.
