I hope this is the case

They've been talking about Iran being "Weeks away" from obtaining nuclear weapons for 40+ years. I'm not buying that excuse.
Based on what? Iran being so totally honest and harmless?

Iran has all they need to make 11 A-bombs.
That Kohmeini didn't say "build it" is not reassuring. It is still an "imminent threat".

They've had "all they need" for years. Why is this a problem now? Or is the Administration seeking to distract from the Epstein files?

Oh so Bush also didnt allow a sitting President to Act. Hmmmm

Guess Peanut Head wasnt even a President huh?
What would you have done if you were Carter? Don't answer. It'll be bullshit. Like Trump saying Obama would do exactly what Trump's doing right now. Hypocrites.

YAWN.

So sick of hearing about Iran.
Been hearing about Iran being a pain in the ass since the 70s.

Like the lunatic left screaming "Nazi", "fascist", "dictator".......blah F-ing blah..........these words have lost all meaning and nobody gives a crap anymore.

Iran is the worlds punching bag.

Nobody cares.
I can't help but look at all the white idiots at the gas station filling up at $5 a gallon. Trying to guess which if not all of them voted for Trump. They all look angry.

Iran turns to Russia as Hormuz blockade strains global trade

Meanwhile, I hear China ships go right through the straights of Hormuz.

Biden had the Epstein files for 4-years, if there was anything there Weissmann would have used it.
Stop grasping at imaginary straws. Let reality disabuse you of that concern, and that there is no accuser.
I'm still waiting for the appeals courts to toss out those 34 bullsh!t felonies.

You just can't see how much Iran has invested in developing nuclear weapons, the tunnels, the thousands of centrifuges, the bomb designers, all they need to build 11 bombs. There is no reason to spend all that if you don't want to build A-bombs.

Trump wants to disabuse them of that nuclear objective.

Being this is Victor Davis Hanson the leftists will blow it off. That's fine. Hopefully this is what Trump is pursuing. No nukes, no terrorist funding etc.

Two things:

1. Iran doesn't really "negotiate". They never have and never will.

2. Those in charge within Iran (whoever they are) don't give a crap about their own people. All they care about is power. They will never give up as long as they have one small gunbut left with only one Revolutionary guard onboard carrying one pistol and no ammunition. They will held steadfast that they will never give up their right to enrich uranium.

Gas always goes up before summer.
When summer comes, it goes down again.
Then it goes back up in the fall.

It does this every year. DUH.

The only exceptions have been when Obozo Bin Laden and Beijing Biden jacked it up WAY over the limit, for their own corrupt agendas.

Well, if you want to pay $5 a gallon for this, go right ahead. Be a patriot and pay the price.

I will. I understand your argument. We don't like the democrat's foreign policy initiatives generally either.
(Biden's AFG mess, Hillary's Benghazi mess, Obama's JCPOA mess, Biden's open borders mess, Biden's 400,000 drug OD mess, Biden's war on energy mess...that caused a spike in gas price...)

The best news is that all policy messes are eclipsed by the next even worse policy mess.

I hope you can see how it looks hypocritical for someone on the MAGA team to defend high gas prices, when one of Trump's campaign promises was to get it back to $1.87.

I love it how you guys are now saying as long as Trump doesn't jack gas up to pandemic levels, he's doing okay.

You must be a fuching moron.

  • President Donald Trump said he will blockade Iran until it agrees to a nuclear deal.
  • But it could take a while before the regime feels enough economic pressure.
  • Iran has enough oil storage to buy it at least a month and maybe longer, analysts say.
  • This gives Tehran time to ramp down production without damaging its fields, they say.
Locked in a standoff with Iran that will break only when economic pain is no longer tolerable, President Donald Trump may have to maintain his naval blockade against Iran for weeks — forcing serious economic consequences on the world.

The oil supply shock, meanwhile, grows worse every day Iran keeps the strait closed, putting pressure on the U.S. as the global economic damage mounts.

“The question for me is who has a longer runway — Trump or Iran,” said Fernando Ferreira, the head of Rapidan Energy’s geopolitical risk service.

Core inflation hit its highest level since November 2023.

“This is a split-screen economy,” said Heather Long, chief economist at Navy Federal Credit Union. “Companies and investors involved in AI are on fire. Meanwhile, middle and moderate income households are struggling with high gas prices and inflation that’s back at the hottest level in three years.”

The inflation report indicated that the bulk of the price pressure came from goods, which rose 1.4%, boosted by an 11.6% surge in energy goods and services. Services prices overall rose 0.3%.

The rise in energy prices appeared to cut into inflation-adjusted consumer spending.

According to the GDP tally, personal spending increased just 1.6% for the month as outlays for goods decreased 0.1%. Real final sales to private domestic purchasers, a more detailed yardstick for consumer demand, accelerated 2.5%. Spending had a tail in the first quarter: personal consumption expenditures jumped 0.9% in March, pushed by leaping prices at the pump, which are now above $4 a gallon.

A 4.4% increase in government spending, including a 9.3% rise at the federal level, also contributed to the quarterly gains.

We can see that the temporary spike in gas price is necessary to keep Iran from getting nuclear weapons.

What I don't understand is how democrats don't see the necessity of the war.
Obama tried diplomacy, Trump is using military force, but the objective is the same, no nukes for Iran.

We've heard the phrase "temporary" before. Usually when they say that...it isn't. They said 2 weeks to flatten the curve for COVID-19, and it lasted 3-4 years...

Politicians have to stand on their actual records. If Trump and the GOP don't improve affordability they will pay in the next election. For Trump it means opening Hormuz sooner rather than later. The EU is in dire straits because they are running out of jet fuel. Italy is sending 4 ships, hopefully other NATO countries will join the fight to open Hormuz.

I served under Reagan and Bush and Clinton.

You try to place Carters FAILURE ON THEM.

They Took our Embassy on his watch.

He pressured Israel to hand back land that is now breading grounds for proxy armies.

He is the ROOT CAUSE OF WHAT WE HAVE TODAY.
I prefer Panko. What do you use? :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg:

So Trump wants to open the straight of Hormuz, which was already open before the war - that he started....right. It will take a miracle to turn around all these mistakes, and have prices come down to a great margin before the midterms.
