I don't agree with all of his ideas, but I think he'll make an excellent president. I think that his popularity is so overwhelming right now, it's on the level of JFK, RFK, Pope John Paul II, MLK and Reagan. What is the one thing each of those have in common? Assasination attemps. Some successful. Some not. I really, really hope the secret service does its job to the best if not better than it is capable of. If you think the stock market went down when the bailout bill failed, the market is 100% controlled by speculators right now it would PLUNGE if Obama was killed. Not to mention riots in many cities and neighborhoods and a bigger Washington insider than McCain himself would be at the helm, running our country. Most importantly, he has a wife and two little girls who adore him. I fear for his family and I fear for this country and I fear for the world if Obama is killed. May God protect him and his family.

The secret service is about as political as the Marine Corps. They are trained to do a job and they will do it. Nobody wants to be the one that let the President take a bullet.

No one that is sane wants the Presdient of the US assassinated.

Bush may have dodged a bullet because of who would succeed him.

That might be the case with Obama as well. NO ONE wants Biden at the helm.

I do however think some stupid racist SOB will at least try. Idiots like that are so consumed with hatred they never foresee the consequences of their actions.

A member of a racist organization assassinating Obama would GUARANTEE the death of that organization and probably any similar organizations.

I certainly hope Obama is wearing a bullet proof vest under his clothing whenever he goes out. If Obama succeeds in his plans, the level of propserity that will be going on in this country will rival that of the late 1990s and mid-late 1920s. Believe me when I say - we want that. We want that very much. If some fucker kills Obama, our economy might not recover for a long, long time. His children may never.

After the shoe throwing incident, I wouldn't trust the secret service to protect me if I were Obama as much as I would before the incident.

Someone taking a shot at Obama, or worse, killing him would be a tragedy. Obama is(will be) the POTUS for all of us and no nation deserves to have their elected leaders lost.

I think Obama is a dumbass socialist but that is really beside the point. Unless he moves to the center he will be bad for the economy and may be pretty bad at foreign affairs too given ne knows pretty much nothing. All that said, Biden is just as bad or worse and losing a fairly elected leader would be horrible for the country I love.

On a hopeful note, most of the assasins in our history were leftist or wackjobs so I hope that works in Obama's favor.
