I don't like college-educted people.

Thank you.

I would make a huge distinction between those in the sciences and those in Humanities. I realize it has been 50 years for me, but the science courses I took were devoid of political indoctrination whereas the humanities were all hard left.
The same remain true today. The engineering students, working with a demanding educational program, don’t have the time or mindset to march around supporting Islamic terrorists or helping erect the barriers to “No Jew Zones.”

Those would be the indoctrinated students majoring in Ethnic Studies, or Black Studies, or Social Justice, or whatever.

You guys are funny.

Outcomes are substantially better for college graduates:
  • $1-1.2M more lifetime earnings
  • Lower unemployment: 6% Non-college grads vs 2% College Grads
  • 5-7 Year longer life expectancy
  • 4Xs household wealth levels
  • Higher job satisfaction and improved working conditions
  • They vote more, volunteer more, donate more to charity
  • Significantly lower crime and incarceration rates
  • Higher academic achievement of their children
  • Higher marriage and stability rates
  • Fewer single parent households

If I listed all those gaps for any other two groups (men vs women, whites vs blacks, urban vs rural) you all would claim that the underperforming group had cultural problems causing those gaps so here it goes:

1. The success gap in college grads vs non-college grads must be because the non-college grads are lazy and have bad culture. Why else would they be so far behind college grads? Especially since.. apparently.. college degrees are worthless.

OR

2. College degrees provide significant value in income and quality of life measures.

Has to be one of those two choices. Dont hate the player.. hate the game.

Not liking educated people without knowing them is a level of stupid hard to reach. Talk about a moron. Education in and of itself is not a sign of intelligence or wisdom but it can help. Not being educated means you live according to a child's world and it is a limited place to be.

Depends on the major. People who major in accounting, or engineering, or business, etc., do indeed end up earning substantially more than non-college graduates.

Those who major in sociology or General Studies end up working the check-in desk at the health spa or serving up lattes at Starbucks.

Those statistics are inclusive of all degrees. Some better than others. Many degrees get people jobs like teaching that arent pursued for money. They are pursued for life satisfaction of schedule and the love of teaching. Its hard to measure everything but you have to concoct a fairly niche example of a life better off without an education.

But teaching is still a career-oriented major, and around here at least, teachers reach the six-figures (with summers off).

I’m talking about useless majors - like General Studies or Ethnic Studies. Kids graduate with these degrees owing $30,000 in student loans - and up in jobs (like a cashier or coffee server) they could have gotten out of high school.

Useless to who? If you want to be in the arts and culture world, which doesnt pay much, you are doing it for a life choice.

Look. I think people can be successful with and without a college degree. Its much easier with a degree and you see much better outcomes. However, its not for everyone and there are plenty of successful paths without a degree. I would encourage a degree for anyone that can afford to go but also would encourage a thoughtful path if you dont.

Im sure it was a college educated person that called a way that we drive on a parkway, and a way that we park on, a driveway.

I got all my education in the industrial engineering fields. My job was always to troubleshoot why something was not working. I loved it and there was zero politics.

Both Trump an the OP loves the poorly educated.

As they're both members of that club.

Figures.

The issue wasn't of people's looking down their noses. It was looking down their noses while being utterly uneducated and stupid, all the time relying on the illusion that their conforming to leftist talking points somehow made them superior.

You would have understood that were you not looking for an opportunity to attack me.

Paranoid losers always think everybody is talking about them personally and get defensive. That's because they recognize themselves as exactly that.

Don’t you just love college-educated people?

In my day, going to college was to get advanced skills in demanding STEM careers. It opened your mind and taught you how to think!

College now is mandatory just to get any entry level job as a tool so that progressives can close your mind, tell you WHAT to think, and make a progressive clone out of you.

Thus, many people come out of college bigger idiots than they were doing in.

Yep

The profs in the social sciences wield more control over students than the ones, say, in Mathematics due to the vast difference in the degree of objectivity involved.

For my 3 kuds there were zero other options than attending college upon graduation. Ehat other viable options are there? Maybe tech school to learn a trade. Other than that nothing i could support.

If they were 18, they could have just told you to **** off and done what they decided.
