I just listed the ones I read and owned. He had several made into video games.

I was on a submarine for a three month cruise in 1980, so I loved Hunt for Red October. Did you know Patriot Games was originally written about Prince Charles and Lady Diana being saved by the Jack Ryan character? They are in the book.

Red Storm Rising had my guided missile cruiser in the book, and we were sunk off the coast of Libya by a Soviet air attack in the book while I was reading that section and that is exactly where we were in the world, shadowing a Soviet Aircraft Battle Group in real life.

Those were my kind of books and movies because I got to live them!

The term “intellectual” has lost much meaning over time.

But I’m having a problem with the notion of an uneducated intellectual.

Of course, college grads make more money, but how does that translate to the betterment of society? Any links would just tout the accomplishments of the grads, not the obvious failures. If you look at the major problems of society many if not most can be laid at the feet of college grads.

Again, its not like anyone is a better or worse person due to more or less education, but they are in a much better life situation providing them with more income, better health and they report increased happiness levels when surveyed.

I'll grant you Trump is a college grad and is unmatched in creating havoc for the world but I am not sure you can blame that on his college education. I honestly dont even think he went to class.

I'm into the third generation. I never did 'well' with medications.
Of course some did save my life. Although I mostly use exercise and food except if bp is up I will take a Losartan otherwise it is a baby aspirin a day.

Medicine doesn't promote health, it just returns people to work. Good health is of little interest to medical professionals.

Scientists are responsible for creating the chemical pollution that's destroying planet earth. Science has yet to address human health in any meaningful way. Closer to home, clean lakes are of little interest to Limnologists. The more biomass in the lakes the more for them to study. Thanks to them most of the lakes in America are in trouble.

Art? Who gives a shit.
