MW hasn't ever been an issue in my life, nor the life of anyone I know. If MW is an issue in the life of any adult, well, they're screwed.

The vast majority of MW workers are kids... mandating $31,200 annually is fucking absurd.
Maybe some, but not I. I think a job should be paid on what the employer and employee agree on. We don't need government dictating to companies how to run their business. The nation will survive higher Minimum Wages. The sky won't fall. Other nations around the world do just fine having higher Minimum Wages. Slave Labor is killing this country. We can and should do better taking care of our own People.
Actually, people should be encouraged to do a better job taking care of themselves.
Like the Chinese working for 2 bucks an hour do?
Hey, don't give greedy white Republican dude any ideas. They would love to be allowed to pay fellow Americans 2 bucks.

The current min. wage for temporary younger workers is 4.25 an hour.

I'm fine with that. But we don't have to support Slave Labor to achieve that goal.

Whatever... $15/hr = $31,200 annually. That; nutz. Hell, why not $20? Let's make it $41,600 annually.
Are there any?8 bucks an hour is slave labor? lol
Can you name some successful countries that have a 15 dollar an hour min wage?
"We can" you mean FORCING employers.. How Ron Paulish of you
And then have to hear from you why such a nation is not successful...lol.
Yes. Australia.
Australia has a tiered wage system for minimum. Lower age workers make less.
Kind of funny people so for a National minimum wage ignores the op and obvious.
Was just listening to the radio on my way to get an oil change....Workers from Verizon service center were pissed off about getting a 6% wage increase but in return jobs were leaving to funny
Where is that story?

You better hope those mechanics make a decent wage. They could do some very bad things to your vehicle. You greedy white Republican dudes really should reconsider wanting to pay fellow Americans shitty wages. A well-paid worker is a happier, competent, more productive worker. Remember, you do get what you pay for.
China uses slave labor. Why would I call that successful? Again, "thought crimes".So you aren't going to explain yourself because of "thought crimes", so to speak? lol okAre there any?8 bucks an hour is slave labor? lol

Does it really matter? You'll just slam those nations as being 'Unsuccessful Nations.' I mean, i'm sure China considers itself to be a very 'successful nation.' And it supports Child Slave Labor. So i'm not really into your interpretation of what a 'Successful Nation' is.
I could give you a list of nations that pay their Citizens a decent Minimum Wage. But what's the point? You'll just angrily condemn them as being 'Unsuccessful Nations.' And then you'll go on to boast about Slave Labor nations like China being so 'Successful.'
Folks like you are taking our nation to a very dark depressing place. I don't want my nation emulating China and other Slave Labor nations. You may want that, but i don't.

The last time I made minimum wage was when I was 16 years old, and that only lasted 6 months until the guy bumped me up another $0.50 cents an hour because I wasn't a total idiot.
Minimum was $4.25 an hour, and I finished at $6.00 an hour when I stopped working there 3 years later.

Yes, it is. A High School kid can barely get by on that wage. And there are many countries around the world who pay higher Minimum Wages than we do. Our $7 Minimum Wage is considered a shocking embarrassment to many around the world. We are the richest nation on earth, no? We can do better.
Who does?
Let's put it this way, all Americans should be ashamed of a $7 Minimum Wage. No one can live on that. Pretty pathetic for the 'Richest nation on Earth.'

Dude you don't even know who benefits the most out of a higher National minimum wage
1. The bix box store company's like Walmart higher MW keeps on putting out of business small mom and pop stores
2. US government more taxes
3. Unions like it was posted on the first page.
It sure don't help the poor working class families a raise in the EITC (earned income tax credit) would be so much better

Shit, when I was in HS I cleaned kennels at the local Vet for like $3/hr... bussed tables at night for next to nothing + tips.
I was rolling in dough!

Still, i'd rather pay a worker a decent wage. You do get what you pay for. You wanna pay shit, expect shit. Don't complain about the consequences afterward.

- 29 states, plus the District of Columbia, have set their minimum wage above the federal level of $7.25 per hour as of Jan. 1, 2015
Damn this even coming from them.
Don't Kid Yourself on the $15 Minimum Wage
Don’t Kid Yourself on the $15 Minimum Wage
The bigger problem is that raising wages by government fiat can really screw up labor markets. The cost burden falls disproportionately on small- and mid-sized retailers, restaurants, low-skill manufacturers and nonprofit social service agencies. These business owners already are struggling to cover the rising costs of health insurance, workers’ compensation and regulatory compliance with low profit margins. They also have to compete with big box retailers, restaurant chains and overseas producers.
The weak economy and strong competition make it hard to pass cost increases on to consumers. If wages rise faster than product prices, many small and mid-sized companies will reduce labor costs by investing in machinery and other labor-saving strategies. How many new self-service lanes have you seen open up in your local grocery store?
But lost jobs will not be the worst part for low-skilled workers. Setting a high minimum wage creates a moral hazard for them. Large numbers of working poor will be conned into thinking they don’t need to build up their human capital to earn a decent living. They will avoid the time and expense of extra training that might help them advance. They will find themselves trapped in low-skill jobs.

Like i said, you wanna pay shit, expect shit. You have no right to complain about the consquences afterwards. It's been proven, you pay a worker decent wage, you get a happier, more competent productive worker.
But hey, you want shittier workers, by all means continue to hope they make shittier wages. You'll get what you want eventually. Because that old adage 'You get what you pay for', is just as valid today as it ever was.
