Ford, GM, and Toyota are all discontinuing production in Australia within the next couple of years. High labor costs being one of the reasons given. The cost of food at McDonald's (as an example) is higher there than it is here. What do you think is going to happen if companies find themselves having to pay a burger flipper $15 an hour? Prices WILL go up. And when prices go up, that $15 an hour doesn't look so good, anymore.

Yes, if we could only lower wages and have more Slave Labor. All of America's problems would disappear. Everything would be perfect. Just get them to come to the conclusion themselves about the absurdity of their point of view. Just ask them if 15/hr is good, then why not 20/hr minimum wage? Ask them why shouldn't it be that. If they all think that it could be that and they see know problem with it being 20/hr then ask them if 20/hr is ok, then make it 30/hr. Why not? Why would that be bad? I mean the poor could possibly by a house of their own. Why not?

Get them to explain why 30/hr minimum wage just cannot work. Oh, I know, Absurd right? Try it. They will get there eventually. If you need to (and you might) make it as high as 50/hr. They may get there Kicking and screaming, but they will get there. Many will walk away from you in disgust and of course think of you as a heartless mean racist. Naturally.
