36,565 fast food jobs have been lost in California since AB 1228 was signed into law in September 2023.

The $20 per hour minimum wage went into effect on April 1, 2024.

Between September 2023 and April 2024, over 10,000 jobs were cut ahead of implementation.

Restaurants have rapidly moved to automation, digital kiosks, and reduced hours to offset labor costs.

Fast food prices in California have jumped 14.5%, far above the national average of 8.2%.

I guarantee you EVERY leftist on this board was 100% convinced that businesses would pay the higher labor rate and just eat the loss instead of passing the costs on to their customers and looking for ways to save money elsewhere.

Companies do not just EAT labor cost increases. There are cuts elsewhere. Could be hours of operation. Could be overall staffing. You might now have 2 people doing what 3 people used to do. Less benefits. Less spending on maintenance. Lower quality on the product materials. Less expense allowance. Smaller workspaces. HIGHER PRICES. CLOSING OF LOCATIONS THAT ARE LOWER PERFORMING.

On and on and on.
