Howdy from the UK

Good evening, I'm a new member from the UK.
I'm a writer of military and political fiction.
Also a political buff though probably with less knowledge of US politics than I'd like to think.
Anyway, Howdy.
Where in the UK are you? Do you drink scrumpy or lager?

I really miss my (past) frequent trips to The UK. Particularly to North Yorkshire. The impression I'm getting from British media (I regularly browse The Independent, The Telegraph and occasionally (for laughs mainly) The Sun and The Guardian is that The UK is off limits. The on again/off again virus restrictions make it impractical to return in the foreseeable future. Recent election results suggest a quickening slide back toward socialist - perhaps starting with re-nationalization of the rails.

Is this feeling valid at all? If so, to what degree?

welcome to USMB, James. Hope you enjoy the boards. Can't wait to read your views if it's not too complex for laypersons, that is.

Probably from down South, it's the shit end of the UK.
I vaguely recall, from before he became the sole entry on my IGNORE list, that he claimed to be from Wales. But I do subscribe to your thought about him being from the part of The UK where the French influence prevents people from expressing themselves in any sort of normal way. The perfect partnership of arrogance and idiocy.

Welcome! Hope you're not from Wales. If you are, I'm sorry.
