How Much Does Our Vote Actually Matter?

Not voting has zero effect on an election. And if it's so important then provide me a candidate who's worthy of my vote. So far I don't see one

I long already casted my vote for Donald Trump a couple of weeks ago, but I was just wondering since my state (Ohio) always turns red anyways, am I actually making a different? I mean, it seems like there are just red states and blue states that typically stay that way then why do we vote? Although this year I swear that New York is going to turn red. 😁
It still counts to the popular vote. Every vote counts.

Have the electoral votes go to the candidate who wins a Congressional district, with two extra votes going to whoever wins a whole state's popular vote.

I thought Ohio might go blue after last year's elections but maybe not now that abortion is off the table for Ohio Republicans.

With abortion on the ballot, Democrats win big in Ohio, Virginia and Kentucky

When a 10-year-old Ohio girl had to cross state lines to terminate her pregnancy last summer, attracting national headlines, activists in that state mobilized to get a ballot measure to enshrine protections in the state constitution. Republicans there tried to kneecap that effort through another ballot measure that would have required a 60% supermajority to amend the state’s constitution. But the GOP-backed measure failed, making way for the abortion rights proposal to succeed. On Tuesday, Ohioans approved a constitutional amendment to protect a person’s right to “make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions.”

Abortion is a terrible hill for Republican's to die on. If they would wash their hands of it, they'd win every election.
No, they’d win one election then people would remember why we voted them out before.

Don’t forget all the republicans who can’t publicly endorse Kamala but won’t be voting for trump. Here are a lot. I think people ignore this voting block.

They will make the difference. Not the Christie’s and Romney types. I’m talking about Ron Disantis and Nikki. They want to run against Kamala in 2028. Or Mitch McConnell. He wants trump gone but can’t say it.

Abortion is a moral issue politically, and you can't legislate morality. You don't have to agree or disagree with something to turn a blind eye to it. Millions of women are going to continue to have unwanted pregnancies. It's as much a fact of life as the sun rising and setting. Why divide the nation over it. Plus, we have bigger fish to fry.

Honestly, the country is doing great except for one thing. The guys at the top have all the money. Blue collar Americans are struggling. Us liberals have been sounding the alarms for decades. But you guys won. You broke the unions. You sent their jobs overseas. You hire illegals to work in your factories. You told us cheap shit from China was great. You INVENTED Nafta. And somehow Trump is going to fix what Republicans broke? I seriously doubt that.

He did a fair job the first time around. The citizens could lend a hand as well. One little realized aspect of Trumps 'outrageous' tariff plans is actually a bargaining tactic to get our foreign trading partners to reduce their tariffs on our exports. Buying China's stuff is ok as long as they also buy ours.

Regarding unions, they just got too greedy. They forgot that they were employees, not partners.

Stop making the lame old arguments you made in the 2000's when you watched Bush send 1 million manufacturing jobs overseas.

Unions exist right now. Are you saying they are too greedy? They won last year. Did they ask for too much? Why? The company gave them what they asked for. This, you should but won't give Biden credit for. Trust me, if Trump were president last year, those union strikes would have went a lot differently. He would NOT have sided with the unions. Today he's conning those dumb union workers who are voting for him. I hope for them he wins and they see how future strikes go. Did you hear him and Musk talk about firing workers who go on strike? Clearly Trump would be okay with that.

I get so mad at union workers who support Republicans. So fucking dumb.

Before Trump got in, Obama had a great economy. Remember we raised min wage but the increases didn't happen till 2017, then Trump took credit for wages going up.

Trump gave tax breaks he shouldn't have given away. Now he wants to give more. We clearly can't afford that. Don't argue we can't solve everything with raising taxes but then defend cutting taxes when you know that won't do it either.
