The video was 3 years old. The protests today have nothing to do with protests 3 years ago.
It is not sanctions but mismanagement in the economy that is the issue.
SOcialist Euro countries are not doing OK. In fact they are scaling back on their socialism and introducing free market reforms.

I watched all the crap Chavez was doing and was amazed the media still referred to him as "President" and pretended it was a democracy. Not once did I see anyone call it an authoritarian regime. The press was largely focused on free health care and schools in poor areas etc etc. How generous Chavez was and so on.
And I knew it was only a matter of time before Venezuela sunk into the same morass of shortages and unemployment that always comes when charismatic dictators offer free shit at someone else's expense. Always. There has never been an exception.
