Twitter was shut down the other day when it was being used to coordinate student protests against the government. Yet, useful idiots like Sean Penn and Danny Glover supported Chavez and the social revolution which has lead to this ruin.

Some arent happy everywhere. I'm trying to understand why they are protesting. Some want the new guy to step down because of lack of services which in the article says "went downhill in the 10 months since he took over".

But is that the whole reason? Not one report says that they want a different economic system so...uh...

They're protesting because Chavez and whatever-that-guy's-name-is has created an economy that has 30% inflation and shortages of basic goods on the shelves. IOW, it's the same basket-case economics that failed in the 60s, 70s and 80s in the Third World.

literally the govt would have to own all production. so to the literalists, just govt being used to regulate 'doesn't count as true socialism'

to those who believe in limited govt strictly by the Constitution, and ownership and control belonging more with the states and people to decide by local democratic process,
any attempt to shift control or regulations from local to federal is a move toward socialism.

the same with Constitutionalism.

as long as Congress passes a law and the Courts rubber stamp it, it is "constitutional" and "law" to some people who only look at the letter of the process

to those who look at the spirit of the Constitution, and distinguish whether procedures were skipped such as not passing an amendment first to expand powers of federal govt before passing a law, things may NOT be Constitutional just because they passed and weren't rejected yet

i see little purpose served in arguing when people don't even agree what terms mean, and what degree of socialism, federalism, statism, or Constitutionalism they are talking about.

in the end, what I see is people either AGREEING with a law that represents them or DISAGREEING, regardless what labels they put on themselves or others.

if they consent to a law, it doesn't matter what these differences are

they only come up when they don't consent on a law and start to discredit each other
in response. so the key is not to force laws against people's consent, and these arguments and labels won't matter. either we agree or we disagree on a specific policy.
