How did it all begin, this animosity towards Russia and communism in general?

Nazis support Russia? WWII disagrees.
If you don't know history, then you don't know anything, buy a book

Well with Great Britain the irrational hatred has been there since at least the 18th century.
yes, 🇷🇺 ivan , we know about your pathetic hate toward THE Country which has introduced the Liberal Democracy to the world

I don't need a book
GOOD FOR YOU !

It all started with Kennan's Long Telegram (1946) that formed the basis of American foreign policy towards the Soviet Union for the next 25 years. Kennan was a Soviet expert who didn't hate Russians. But we still cannot fully trust those who had been behind the Iron Curtain. The Long Telegram was strong in its anti-communism, outlining a basic theory of containment.

The Charge in the Soviet Union (Kennan) to the Secretary of State
SECRET
Moscow, February 22, 1946--9 p.m. [Received February 22--3: 52 p.m.]
511. Answer to Dept's 284, Feb 3 [13] involves questions so intricate, so delicate, so strange to our form of thought, and so important to analysis of our international environment that I cannot compress answers into single brief message without yielding to what I feel would be dangerous degree of over-simplification. I hope, therefore, Dept will bear with me if I submit in answer to this question five parts, subjects of which will be roughly as follows:
(1) Basic features of post-war Soviet outlook.
(2) Background of this outlook
(3) Its projection in practical policy on official level.
(4) Its projection on unofficial level.
(5) Practical deductions from standpoint of US policy.
I apologize in advance for this burdening of telegraphic channel; but questions involved are of such urgent importance, particularly in view of recent events, that our answers to them, if they deserve attention at all, seem to me to deserve it at once.

Actually, for about a decade there was a lot of cooperation between the two. Specifically the Treaty of Rapallo, where a lot of the militarization of Germany was actually done. As Germany was prohibited from designing or manufacturing weapons, that was done with the Soviet Union in their country. Like the Lipetsk Fighter Pilot School, the Kama Tank School, and the Tomka Gas Test Site.

However, it was a program that helped both sides, as both the Panzerkampfwagen I and II were developed there as well as most of the Soviet Interwar tanks like the T-18 and T-26.

Are you contending that the Nazis and Russians were allies in WWII?

what do you mean ? who have been killing us , if not the commies in 20c ?

Did you hear I've turned Republican? So I'm trying to see it your way. I said "I don't think communism" had anything to do with those evil men murdering those people.

Maybe capitalism, or socialism, do create the poor people who turn to drugs and crime and end up in prison. But not capitalism. It would be things like welfare that creates lazy people dependent on the rest of us. Dependent on the government.

They wouldn't be on welfare if we didn't give them welfare. And guess what? Most of them will figure it out without our help. They'll be independent and self reliant.

Seems like a plan.

Seems like a plan.

Here's one that is a dilemma. What about my neighbor. She was always a big girl but got bigger, and bigger and bigger. She ran other people's salons for years. Probably made $50K a year. So she was independent. Lived on her own. Eventually started her own salon. One day she collapses. 5 foot 2 maybe 300 plus pounds. She goes to the doctor and the doctor says, "you can't work. Not in your condition. You're gonna die" So she applies for and gets on medicaid and disability. A plethora of problems but they all stem from her being a fat fuck.

I say they should send her to a fat farm and she gets on a diet, a nutritionist, and she is forced to lose the weight. If she's going to be on our dime, then we own her. And she needs to lose weight.

So she gets a gym membership for free too. One day she says she's starting to lose too much weight and doesn't want to lose her disability, because "honey, I'm done working".

Now I get it. She's in her 50's and doesn't want to go back to work. But she could. Especially today with so many people working from home.

But she has to lose weight first.

Anyways, it sickens me how many Americans like this are on disability. Almost all of them did it to themselves.

The ones who got in horrible accidents and can't work anymore, I get.

Oh, I have another friend. She got in a horrible accident. I honestly think she was faking it. She seems fine to me. But she apparently got really bad head trauma so she's on disability. Is she faking it? Maybe she wasn't at first but I bet now she could go back to work but if they ask her she will say NO I CAN'T.

So many fucking losers have checked out early. You don't think I want to cash out and stop working? I'm in my mid 50's too. And I see more successful people my age retiring. It sucks having to work till you are 62 or 65.

The funny thing is, they get so very little. My neighbor, the fat one, complains all the time about how she has no money. Her car had a problem and she didn't have a warranty. The transmission was going to cost her $3000. She got the arab at the shop to sell her a warranty. And she had to wait 3 months to make the claim.

I retired from Banking at 65. Started my own little Biz, COVID wrecked that. But I was 70 at the time and really well set financially.

From September 1939 to June 1941 they were allies. What, do you not know anything of history? Never heard of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact?
Are you contending that the Nazis and Russians were allies in WWII? You do know how the conflict ended, right? What, do you not know anything of history?

With a memorandum, written by a collaboration of newly minted "security" specialists and corporate spokesmen. Create a boogyman, put Reinhart Gehlen who was Hitler's spy chief and his crew to work to feed Congress with inflated threats and get more funding and power. Oh, keep it secret for 25 years and let the mockingbird press run with it. That's how our war economy was built, and it remains today. That is why voting doesn't matter as much as you might think. Ever hear of the "Red Scare" and the "McCarthy Era?"

Bobby Kennedy got his start as Counsel to House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). Russia was evil incarnate. Roy Cohen was McCarthy right hand man. I can remember every Saturday at noon, the air raid siren would go off. At school in West Memphis, AR, the students were issued dog tags during the Cuban Missile Crisis. At one point, when my Dad moved us to D.C. He had a job at the I.U.E (International Union Electrical Workers Union). Across the was the Soviet Embassy. Every Christmas, the I.U.E> would light it's offices in form of a cross. To the Hungarian Uprising in the 1950's. When Soviet Embassy complained, they were informed about the Right to Freedom of Speech.

Communism is pure evil. Putin regardless of pretense is still a communist and you people love him.

^^ LMAO

There we have it folks. Communism isn’t responsible for all the people they murdered under their own various regimes. The gulags, the killing fields, the intentional starvation. And to top it off Orange Man is actually worse.
:spinner:
So true. Under communism. Putin isn't a communist. When he took power, the first thing he did was restore the church.

At the beginning of the war they were. They invaded Poland together. Russia was providing coal and other war material to Germany prior to Operation Barbarossa.
