One of the great things about the American Constitution is that a local Popstar can be elected to congress which seems like a big deal

So true...

The last has to come up with some new players and some fresh new material.

Republicans are a milquetoast society
W/o DJT

He'll win three elections
and serve two terms...

That's my best guess right now with Nikki Haley as Vice

The problems are many and so it's not going to be productive to emphasize just one of them. The American system has fallen victim to corruption, but would a parliamentary system contain any better safeguards?

The working class American people are discontented with being cheated out of a piece of the great American pie and had chosen a mad corporate psychopath to bring them relief. But in their desperation, they chose a liar whose very agenda is obviously the exact opposite of what is needed.

That's the issue at it's very roots. Those who were expecting help are left with nothing, but are willing to accept extremism bordering on fascism, because they still refuse to give up hope in Trump. There's no other offer of a remedy coming from anybody else.

Ask me how this ties in with America at war in order to be capable of possessing enough wealth to feed the people, whithout reliquishment of the wealth of the very rich 1%. That's not an acceptable solutionn to either polticial party.

Sorry to tell you, but this falls directly at the feet of congress. Congress has as much power if not more than the executive branch does. But, congress people from both sides, especially the senate, do not want to go on the record for anything that might be seen as unpopular. Basically, they have let the executive branch do what they want, then just criticize it.

Like or hate them, this is why Mansion and Sinema were a surprising duo to stand up to business as usual in Washington. The GOP always has defectors as we all know, but Democrats are 99% of the time in lockstep. And yet, they did it, and I can't tell you about Sinema, but Mansions approval ratings have risen 16% because of it in WV.

Let me tell you-------->If the GOP retakes congress this November and do not start exercising the power that congress is given under the constitution, then we have to start thinking about how we are going to replace them in 2024. We can NOT let a President from either party ride roughshod over America. The House of Reps answers directly to us, the people. If they do not want to do their job, then they should resign, and allow someone to be elected who will.

No rational person can accept people such as MTG and Gaitz, to mention only two. Without recognition of those problems there can be no productive discussion.

All Republics Go Bananas

Despite its deceptive Preamble, the Constitution itself excludes us, the people. It establishes a bipartisan oligarchic clique of elitist blowhard know-it-alls. Overriding that enemy of self-determination is our only path to getting the nation back on track.

Except ignorance and apathy belong to the politicians

No, they don't have a corner on the market for either. It's gotten way too easy in our society for people to outsource responsibility for every damned thing to someone else to worry about, and nothing good ever comes of it. We outsourced responsibility for charity to the government, because it was easier to have them just take the money and make sure it was handled. Now we have a perennial welfare state full of people who are functionally incapable of being any use to anyone, including themselves. We outsourced responsibility for raising our kids to the schools, and now we have school districts who view parents as interlopers and predators flocking to teaching as a way to further their own aims. We outsourced watching our politicians and government to the news media, and now we have media corporations thinking it's okay for them to decide what we think.

Taking personal responsibility for things is hard, and it seems so much easier to just hand it over to a bureaucracy and assume they'll take care of everything. But no good ever comes from it.

You've laid all the blame on the people.
Why is that so peculiar to America?
Now do you want to expand it to blaming the people of other countries too?

The people in America, the masses, must have been subjected to some other influence of their leaders. Hasn't the American system failed to keep everything working so that no class of people will be left behind?

If it's not common to other countries, what went wrong?
