10 Things Trump Should Do in His Second Term

Okay, let's look at this list.

Trump must also reduce incentives for people to come illegally by eliminating Sanctuary City laws. After all, what are sanctuary cities protecting illegal immigrants from? From our own laws! The idea that illegal residents who commit serious crimes are not always turned over for deportation is a scandal.

First and foremost, you'd have a problem here with federalism and state's rights. The government can't tell a state or a city how to enforce its laws, or what laws they can have. This was your whole point with abortion, wasn't it?

It's not just the sanctuary city, it's the city that already has jails filled to capacity with real criminals who don't have the resources to lock up an illegal alien until the Feds bother to come around to get him. (A process that often takes months or even years.)

Trump should also change the Census so that it does not count illegal immigrants. Democrats in charge of states that are losing population due to high taxes, rampant crime, poor schools and a deteriorating quality of life, like California and New York, face little penalty for their ideological excesses and mismanagement. As legal residents move elsewhere, the states should lose seats in Congress, Electoral College votes and financial handouts. But because they have welcomed large numbers of illegal immigrants, the impact is muted and they aren’t held politically accountable.

He'd have to change the constitution to do that. The Census requires a count of EVERY person, not just citizens.

Trump must also “drill, baby, drill,” rescinding the many Biden-Harris regulations that have made it harder and more expensive to drill for oil and gas. Most important is putting back in play the millions of acres in Alaska’s Arctic Natural Wildlife Refuge, which industry experts say could eventually boost U.S. production by some 1 million barrels per day.

We are already drilling to capacity. The oil companies aren't going to do through the trouble of drilling in ANWAR if the next Democrat is just going to do backsies. Not when they have thousands of leases they aren't using right now that are no problem.

Another priority should be to enforce the tough sanctions that Trump levied on Iran during his presidency. The Biden-Harris White House has allowed Iran’s oil output to surge, along with their income. This foolhardy empowering of the Middle East’s most aggressive sponsor of terror has put the region on the brink of all-out war.

Woooo... big problem with this one. You see, the Iran deal was signed by six countries, five of who felt Trump burned them when he tanked the deal that Iran was complying with. Iran is able to sell their oil to Russia and China with no problem. Not to mention India.

Trump should revoke the security clearances of the 51 former intelligence officials who lied to interfere with the 2020 election. Trading on the perception that they knew something, they falsely accused the New York Post of falling for Russian disinformation and “smearing” Hunter Biden with its election-eve story about the “laptop from Hell.” Not only was the Post story vindicated, the laptop was also used as evidence against the younger Biden in his trial on federal gun violations.

That would be petty, but sure, you do you.

Trump should cancel all Department of Defense initiatives regarding DEI, or Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. These cost taxpayers $114 million this year.

The military is already having a hard time filling positions. Making it less attractive to women, minorities, and LGBTQ people isn't going to help.

10. Last, and most importantly, the former president should move heaven and earth to make our elections secure and transparent. Nothing could be more important to our country than re-establishing confidence that the vote is fair. Some 81 percent of Americans approve of requiring a government-issued photo ID to vote; that should be the law.

Again, you run into that state's rights thing again. Short of a constitutional amendment, each state can conduct elections as they see fit.

OK, folks, now that we got this election out of the way, one that I knew Trump would win handily, it's time to get to work right from the get-go and establish a NATIONWIDE photo-ID voter law. It's time to rid Democrats of ALL the cheating mechanisms.

Okay. Go ahead and amend the constitution to allow that.

Otherwise sit down and shut up.

Okay, let's look at this list.
This is the author's list, not mine, though I agree with it. However, I don't mind debunking your claims on her behalf. Any further complaints should be addressed to her.

Perhaps you've never heard of the Supremacy Clause which says federal laws and treaties supersede state laws. It's the.....Constitution.
It's not just the sanctuary city, it's the city that already has jails filled to capacity with real criminals who don't have the resources to lock up an illegal alien until the Feds bother to come around to get him. (A process that often takes months or even years.)
I agree it's a shame Biden/Harris created this mess. We should take money from their ridiculous massive spending programs on the 'environment'. Nonetheless, removing illegals is an important job that was overwhelmingly approved by the American people. It will reduce crime and fraudulent elections.
He'd have to change the constitution to do that. The Census requires a count of EVERY person, not just citizens.
Supremacy Clause again. Article VI, Section 2, U.S. Constitution
We are already drilling to capacity. The oil companies aren't going to do through the trouble of drilling in ANWAR if the next Democrat is just going to do backsies. Not when they have thousands of leases they aren't using right now that are no problem.
Nonsense. Not drilling anywhere near capacity. Did you not read the author's link?

Iran ran out of money in Trump's first term. Terrorism dropped way down. it can be done again, thanks to President Trump.
That would be petty, but sure, you do you.
Petty? No. It's called consequences and justice for those who undermined the country.
The military is already having a hard time filling positions. Making it less attractive to women, minorities, and LGBTQ people isn't going to help.
Here's a novel idea. Make the military attractive to MEN again. No more ads about some leftwing protester chick with two mommies becoming a 'soldier'. You think that wimpy image will draw men? The military needs men, not woke leftwing women. The first step is to FIRE the DEI media czar. The second step is to take back the military from the Marxists running it now.

So is the 10th Amendment that protects state's rights. But here's the real problem you guys are going to have.

Feds: We want you to hold undocumented immigrants for us.
Locals: Okay, send us some money, and we'll think about it.
Feds: No, we're too busy giving tax breaks to billionaires!
Locals: Well, good luck with that.

50.5% is not overwhelming. It's amazing that you guys are now for majority rule in the first time in 24 years.

Nonsense. Not drilling anywhere near capacity. Did you not read the author's link?

I don't have to. ANWAR was first opened to Oil Company Rape by Dubya Bush. No one really wanted to go there. Lack of pipelines, infrastructure, and the fact that it's just too fucking cold up there to bother.

Iran ran out of money in Trump's first term. Terrorism dropped way down. it can be done again, thanks to President Trump.

Wow, what healthy fantasies you got. What actually happened was Iran took over Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and about half of Yemen on Trump's watch.

Petty? No. It's called consequences and justice for those who undermined the country.

Nope. The process for the Census is very clearly spelled out in Article 1, Section 2. It's also kind of a moot point, as the next Census isn't due until 2030, and Trump will be gone by then.

Why would the military be attractive to men if you throw out the women and gays?

Here's what makes the military unattractive. The pay sucks, you have no ability to quit if you think it was a bad idea without screwing up your future job prospects, and they might send you off to get killed in some god-forsaken land. Why would anyone sign up for that unless they were fairly desperate to start with?

I consider my time in the military to have been a net positive, but I'd never advise a young man or woman to join today, especially with Trump making the decisions.

We have had many amendments to the Constitution regarding voting.

Yes, we do. When everyone agreed that the change was fair and reasonable. If anything, voter ID violates the 24th Amendment that prohibits a poll tax.

Despite all the hype and rhetoric otherwise, it looks pretty likely Trump will coast to a second term (barring another steal). Frankly I would like the election to be over so we can get on with overhauling all the crap going on. Political writer Liz Peek lays out the first ten things Trump should do in his second term. Sounds great to me.

  1. Restoring order at the border comes first, as Trump has already indicated. Illegal immigration is a top concern for voters, and rightly so; allowing more than 10 million unvetted people to enter our nation has become a nightmare for towns and cities across the U.S.

In towns like Aurora, Colo., Venezuelan gangs attracted to next-door Denver’s sanctuary city status have caused mayhem, forcing locals to cough up millions of dollars to beef up law enforcement. In New York City, residents are paying $5 billion to house and feed tens of thousands of migrants who reportedly account for some 75 percent of arrests for violent crimes. It is not fair and it must end.

  2. Trump must also reduce incentives for people to come illegally by eliminating Sanctuary City laws. After all, what are sanctuary cities protecting illegal immigrants from? From our own laws! The idea that illegal residents who commit serious crimes are not always turned over for deportation is a scandal.

Along the same lines, Trump should call on Congress to eliminate birthright citizenship, which automatically makes any child born on U.S. soil a citizen. This principle is widely abused and is a serious magnet attracting illegal entrants and birth tourism. Nearly every other developed country except Canada has abandoned birthright citizenship; we should too.

U.S. oil output is at record levels today, but studies show we could be producing much more. On balance, more production means lower prices, and consequently less income for adversaries such as Russia and Iran.

  6. The Government Efficiency Commission proposed by Trump and Elon Musk has been enthusiastically endorsed by many, including JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, who called it a “very good idea.” Given the ever-growing bloated federal bureaucracy, he is right.

  7. Canceling Biden’s executive order mobilizing all federal agencies to register voters fits with the efficiency drive. This is not the role of government. It is also ripe for abuse, as it lets Democrats target districts rich with their own unregistered potential voters.

I would add there should be an effort to get the right fetal personhood cases before the Supreme Court. I think we have the court to put it through. Just need the right case. That would end the abortion debate once and for all.
First of all be very skeptical about who is advising him.
Get the best people he uses to make doggone sure there are no
appointments given to those not fully embracing Trump's desires.
He had to learn that lesson the hard way in his first Presidency.
I just heard that Mike Pompeo was just passed over for a cabinet
post due to Trump Loyalist { Roger Stone } researching Pompeo and
finding a few clips of him down-playing Trump.Like Nikki Haley did.
And guys like John Bolton and even General Mattis.
Then of course guys like Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
Mark Milley.
Then of course peons like Anthony Scaramucci and
overblown black female Celebrity Dance queen
Omarosa Manigault.
Guite a few udders ta boot.

Explain how Biden amassed 82 Million votes in 2020.
Obama,Hillary got around 64-66 Million.Trump managed
74m in 2020.Looking at a graft the last 20 years and there is no way
that a Losing Party { '24 democrats } managed to eek out
82 million votes in 2020 w/o some kind of massive illegal
ballot plan.Plus tightening up ballot watchers and stopping
vote counting in the wee hours of the morning.
There is gonna be a serious look at what illegal and/or
very odd voting practices were used to Guarantee Bdien such a massive
{ 82 million } number of votes. And then taking days to count.
Cheating Had to take place.A Concerted plan in how to
use Covid and exploit Ballots being mailed and counted.
Plus Truck loads of ballots being dropped off in the dead of night.
In favorable Democrat districts.

Ah, so who do you think he's going to get?

Here's the ugly truth about Trump's first term. The only reason why it wasn't a lot worse was because he had guys like Pompeo and Pence and Halley keeping him from truly fucking things up.

This time he (like most presidents) will appoint loyalists who will indulge his worst ideas. it's why most presidents have bad second terms.

Or, things were so bad in 2020 that people who didn't normally bother to vote were motivated to vote.

I think the biggest problem with 2020 is that a lot of us have just blocked it out of our minds. We don't like to think about the fear and the death and not being able to find toilet paper and being worried about riots in the streets. So we all try to treat 2020 like a bad dream. This favored Trump, who in a sane world, would never have been able to live his failures down.

There are about 5 million votes to be counted, and most of them will probably go to Harris, although not enough to change the results.

So - 2020 - 81 million for Biden, 74 million for Trump, = 154 million.

So far this year, we have 75 million for Trump and 71 million for Harris with 5 million yet to be counted, so let's say 151 million.

So three million less voted.

Some probably couldn't pull the lever for either candidate. Frankly, I heard that a lot, how people didn't like either one of them.

Some people couldn't get over their misogyny and racism to vote for a black woman.

Some people probably figured, without the threat of Covid/Recession/Riots, there was no point in voting, especially if they lived in one of the 43 states that weren't really contested.

We are talking about a three percent shift with MAYBE 2 percent of that being non-participation.

The Voters totally as in TOTALLY refuse to buy that bullshit.
Trump was right as rain the entire time over
the election of 2020.It was rigged. We kinda know where
it was rigged. But not precisely how and by who.
But that explanation is forthcoming. That is why The Democrats
Lost last week. They did not build a Firewall to guard against
being exposed.Trump used The most quality legion of
Election experts, lawyers and vote watchers to Deny Kamala
the Harris being able to pull the same crap as in 2020.
Again Trump won 2,497 counties in 2020.
Biden won 477 counties with 81 + million
votes.Like 15-16 MORE than last week.Kamala the Harris
did not win a single county in The U.S.
Because Trump assembled the most earnest, qualified
Republicans to watchguard Against what transpired in 2020.
Lies,Liars and veritable Cheats should never be able to
Rule an Election. We the People are charged with that sacred trust.
Democrats don't give a shit about any of that.
The proof is mounting faster than any supercomputers can
spell out.In fact, most Computers have about had it with these
Democrats.Almost as if we are living in some Sci-fi
50's outer space flick.

In 2020, 158,429,631 allegedly voted. As of 10:30 this morning, 148,440,738 have voted in 2024. Four million votes are outstanding, so you're 6 million short. THEN you add in the voting population of the 19 million more US citizens added since 2024. Even if a modest 25% of that group votes, you're now at over a 10 million difference since 2020, nearly all on the Democrat side. Where are the voters? Answer: they never existed. They were fabricated, primarily through the mail-in ballot scam.

The excuse that "Democrat voters were especially motivated in 2020" is nonsense. The Alzheimer's patient who never campaigned was the worst candidate in 100 years. And this year, we were told the entire Republic is at stake by the dictator. So the motivation this year would have been higher.

Most of us aren't going to die because Trump will try to be a dictator.
People were watching the meat wagon come around for their neighbors in 2020. That's plenty of motivation.

That's kind of urgent.

I'm not sure where you are getting "19 million more citizens added", exactly. Last year, only 848K immigrants became citizens, the year before that only 949K.

Now, I am sure a lot of people who voted by mail in 2020 didn't vote this time. Maybe they were disappointed by how little Biden managed to accomplish. (Not true, he accomplished a lot, but no one talks about it.) Maybe they were too misogynistic or racist to vote for a black woman. Or more likely... they just didn't care. They were burned out.

A refrain I've heard over and over again was "I didn't like either one of them".

So people sitting it out because their state wasn't in play? Yup, that seems perfectly reasonable.

Moron, lowering energy and food costs helps all Americans.

Except that's not going to happen.

Fuel will probably stay where it's at because China and India are increasing their demand.

As for food. First, a lot of our food comes from foreign countries that will be subject to the Trump Tariffs.
Secondly, when he deports thousands of undocumented immigrants, the cost of processing that food will increase.

Can we wait and see? You are so negative. Chill, Jeanie.

I don't have to wait and see, Kobold.

Trump was a total fuckup in his first term.

And that was before the senile dementia kicked in, and he still had people like Pence and Pompeo and Hally to keep him from doing anything too stupid.

It's kind of like you survive a car crash, and your immediate reaction is to get into the same car, but after you'd disabled the anti-lock brakes and the airbag.

He was great and he won in 2024 both EC and popular vote. The real fuckup is you. But it’s OK, you amuse. Especially when you tattle.

yes, we know that hurt your feelings, Kobold.

But man, go back to 2004. Bush won about by the same margins Trump did.

Two years later, his own party didn't want to be seen with him.

Trump is a lame duck the moment he is sworn in.
