House and Senate sessions today

No. Don't drink. You could either the kind who puts shield around you children so that no one will interfere with their true potential or you could be the kid that believes one should pick themselves up and dust themselves because that is just the way life is. I am not judging you at all, at least not in this instance, I just want to understand if it is "every man for themselves" or if it is a pack of wolves.

:eusa_eh:
neither...it is reality...it is the realization that you are the one most in a position to affect your lot in life - good or bad. Thinking free money and free housing with no strings attached is an answer to anything is completely foolish and disregards 40 years of clear - crystal clear - data to show it does not work.
Permanent social programs creates poverty, it will never-ever solve or even alleviate it

Study after study has proved what you just stated on social programs is incorrect. Then again this goes exactly to the reply I last gave to Rabbi.

On the part of your reply concerning "reality" I assume you don't believe in random variables. Do you have insurance of any kind? Why?

Uh no. Every study, except those funded by people with something to gain from the entitlement state, show that making people dependent increases dependency. ALthough it ought to be obvious.

Following up what what a couple of the Senators were saying I found this. I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the Republican outrage. After all will all the outrage about poor people cheating the government a person cheating on $25 million of income and receiving not a day of prison time is sure to get them fired up.

Beanie Babies billionaire could get prison time - Hawaii News Now - KGMB and KHNL
A federal judge in Chicago has sentenced the billionaire creator of Beanie Babies to two years of probation but no prison for tax evasion.

H. Ty Warner appeared somber but composed as he made a brief statement before he was sentenced Tuesday in which he apologized and said he felt "shame and embarrassment" for what he had done.

He could have been sentenced to up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to a single tax evasion count for not paying taxes on $25 million in income stashed in Swiss bank accounts.

U.S. District Judge Charles Kocoras also ordered Warner to serve 500 hours of community service.

Warner is among the highest-profile targets in the federal government's push to prosecute Americans concealing income from the IRS overseas.

I believe these are one of the programs you are referring to. Your turn.

WTF does that have to do with programs that increase dependency??

My apologies. You'll have to be a little more specific on "programs that increase dependency".

A Republican Senator spoke a little bit ago. He stated how 1845 was not funded in a way he liked, not that it was unfunded, just in a way he did not like. He believes that this country can not afford, or should not afford, helping the unemployed a little longer. Yes, our "socialist government" is strangling the life out of big corporations and personal wealth. Yeah, right. What we are strangling the life out of is our fellow Americans. Just watch the money poor into the Republican's coffers for reelections, I know I will. Republicans are more worried about themselves that anyone else in this country. No?

Sorry, you're too brain damaged to deal with. On to iggy you go.

Tiresome.
I don't care what study someone does, to say the 1960-1970's social programs worked is laughable.
Just flat out laughable.

Still waiting for an answer for that last question. While we wait:
I can understand way Senator McConnell doesn't understand unemployment: "a guy who has evidently NEVER had a private sector job."

It is a good thing I am a patient person. Kentucky's unemployment rate is 8.2%. That is 1.5% higher than the national average.

Unemployment Benefits extension not passed. Opposition championed by a person worth $27.2 million, never held a private industry job a day in his life, and comes from a state with has an unemployment rate of 8.2%.

Are you aware there is a difference between Democracy and Capitalism?

Are you aware that about half of what you say is like throwing dice? No rhyme or reason...just random statements and questions.
Your signon shouldn't be "RandomVariable" - it should be "RandomTrolling"

The Republican who spoke directly after the vote for the Republican party was Senator Moran from Kansas. Rather than talking about the unemployment benefit extension bill he just voted against he talked about how immigrates with advanced degrees in the sciences should be able to streamline to starting businesses in the U.S.
