Is a shutdown breakthrough in the offing?

It's this sort of childish idiocy that renders Republicans incapable of sound, responsible governance.
Consumer confidence is cratering, so too the stock market, the jobs market, faith in elections, respect for bedrock institutions like the DoJ and SC, optimism about the future.

It's almost like the POt (Party Of trump) is doing Putin's bidding.

Freshman Senate Dems and House Republicans to on bipartisan ACA plan

Two Senate Democrats and two House Republicans are planning to huddle Friday over a possible bipartisan plan to extend soon-to-expire Obamacare subsidies, according to four people with direct knowledge of the matter.

Centrist Senate Democrats are working feverishly to hammer out an ACA framework in more detail to give Democrats an off-ramp to vote to reopen the government.

Can a solution be found despite Don's efforts to keep the government shut down? Even if congressional Repub's and Dem's reach a compromise will he sign off on it?

I don't know. But it's encouraging to see some discussion going on.
Stop lying, this was ALL ABOUT Schumer and the Democrats shutting down the government to extend OBAMACARE SUBSIDIES period. They are now directly endangering US Citizens with their latest abuse of power.

The shutdown is now part of the democrat brand. They won't give it up.
But Trump’s going to own it because he’s the president and it’s a GOP congress

That’s all people are going to remember next November

And If you think the average voter knows anything about 60% vote in the senate or anything like that, then you’re vastly overestimating the knowledge of your fellow Americans

He didn't.

Even your own link shows Trump doubled the deficit before Covid!

And you all went radio silent. After bitching for eight years and beyond about Obama's spending as he cut the deficit in HALF. Again as your link shows.

These are the facts.

.

ACA/Obamacare has turned into ******* welfare and has been for some time. Not what it was sold as and taxpayer subsidies need to come to an end.

Once again you've chosen ignorance over knowledge. A habit all too many trumples routinely engage in.

As an alternative, four other people with direct knowledge of internal party strategy say a handful of House Republicans are privately indicating a willingness to eventually support a Democratic-led discharge petition on a measure to extend the subsidies — a procedural maneuver allowing rank-and-file members to force a vote on legislation without leadership’s blessing.
On the other hand, four other people with direct knowledge of communist internal policy say their politburo masters have no intention of supporting any negotiation to end the Schumer shutdown

Maybe you don't know what the word double means. Cause it clearly doesn't show that.

I say there is a lot of GOP members who know that putting large costs on US public by defunding Health Insurance is a death nail...
They want to leave it in but don't want the wrath of the President... They want to vote for it without seeming to vote for it...

Democrats have got the message, Fight... Their supports have said and end to the capitulation to madness... You can't compromise that much with madness...

GOP have no healthcare plan... No they don't even have a concept unless that concept is, Don't get Sick.... Saving Plans are a joke, it is not insurance...
GOP is being held together by massively partisan Fox News which is becoming more and more, out of touch. I saw a focus group being berated by a the Moderator when an Independent said that Inflation is a problem and one Trump is failing to address. She just blamed Biden even though Inflation is higher today than last year...

View attachment 1181820

We do know that the inflation in 2021 and 2022 was caused (according to the World Bank) by increased Oil Prices which was connected to the Oil Supply restriction deal Trump pushed into in April 2020...

Who said that the GOP and DJT are looking to defund Healthcare? That is the Democrats false reasoning.
Stopping fraud and paying for illegal alien is what the GOP is seeking to accomplish.
Notice how many millions of illegals and frauds are on SNAP alone.

I could careless if it ever reopens.

Cut the debt ceiling off and return the issues to the States
We’re already have flight delays because of the shutdown and Thanksgiving is coming up quick

Just sayin

Extending the COVID ACA Supplement was only one demand. Medicaid for border jumpers given "legal status" and half a Billion for CPB would have to be addressed.

The ACA didn’t expand Medicaid???
Part of the ACT did. Which has nothing to do with premiums unless you plan on getting rid of the ACA entirely

So if the ACA expanded Medcaid, and MEdicaid is getting federal dollars, and CA uses medicaid to get illegals healtcare, then....well....I don't think I have to connect the dots anymore

I tend to agree. Dem's are willing negotiating partners but His Orangeness is not.

Maybe if congressional Repub's were to get a meeting with Don where they could make some sort of offering something could be worked out. Like a proclamation stating Don is the greatest and most powerful leader ever. Or give him a golden Septor he can wave around. Then maybe he'd allow millions of people to be able to afford healthcare insurance.
Hamas is easier to negotiate with than democrats are.

The House passed a bill. Trump was ready to sign it. Democrats in the Senate decided to shut the government down instead of voting for the bill. That's just the facts.
