Hoodwink: AP Hypes Biden Sounding ‘Alarm’ on Rising Energy Prices, Ignores His Anti-Oil Policies

11 Aug 2021 ~~ By Joseph Vazquez
The Associated Press (AP) found a way to make President Joe Biden look like an American prophet warning about rising energy prices, without mentioning how his anti-oil agenda is contributing to the growing crisis.
AP ran a puff story headlined, “Biden administration sounds alarm on rising energy prices.” The lede paragraph was just as ridiculous: “President Joe Biden’s administration is raising alarms at home and abroad about rising energy prices slowing the nation’s recovery from the pandemic-induced recession.” GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis Patrick De Haan argued in April that Biden’s energy plan was contributing to rising gas prices. In addition, Bloomberg News reported in July that Biden was “preparing to release a blueprint for limiting sales of U.S. drilling rights that falls short of the outright ban sought by some environmentalists.” The move came “as rising oil and gasoline prices highlight the risks of curtailing domestic crude production,” according to Bloomberg News. World Oil republished the Bloomberg story under the headline: “Biden continues his anti-U.S. oil and gas push while crude demand rises.
The AP report has since been stealth-edited to reflect a less pro-Biden headline: “Biden team is seeking ways to address rising energy prices.” The lede paragraph has been changed as well.
Guess what: AP’s report didn’t mention the damning context while propping up Biden’s alleged concern about rising gas prices. The outlet even had the audacity to hype up Biden’s National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan looking to the “international oil cartel” Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) “to move faster to restore global supply of petroleum to pre-pandemic levels.” AP, of course, didn’t mention Biden’s actions killing U.S. energy independence such as nuking the Keystone XL Pipeline and halting fossil fuel leasing on federal lands.

**********
But AP only seemed concerned with protecting Biden’s nonexistent image as a defender of U.S. energy interests. The outlet also recently ran one of its phony fact-checks headlined: “AP FACT CHECK: House GOP falsely blames Biden for gas prices.

Comment:
Essentially, Joey Xi Bai Dung has proven that the “Drill, baby, drill” theory as implemented by Trump, actually works. And now that Biden has shut everything down, he’s compassionately warning us about rising gas prices.
What is it with Progressive Marxist Socialist/DSA-CPUSA Democrats? All of them are screw ups yet masters at blaming others for their incompetence or criminality.
This is akin to, “Ted Bundy raising an alarm about recent attacks on young women.”

The Interior Department approved about 2,500 permits to drill on public and tribal lands in the first six months of the year, according to an Associated Press analysis of government data. That includes more than 2,100 drilling approvals since Biden took office January 20.

New Mexico and Wyoming had the largest number of approvals. Montana, Colorado and Utah had hundreds each.

But the steps taken by the administration to date on fossil fuels are more modest, including a temporary suspension on new oil and gas leases on federal lands that a judge blocked last month, blocked petroleum sales in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) and cancellation of the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada.

Because vast fossil fuel reserves already are under lease, those actions did nothing to slow drilling on public lands and waters that account for about a quarter of U.S. oil production.

Can we let go of this flippin myth. As you can see from another poster, drilling on public lands is UP, approval of already granted leases is coming at record breaking pace, a pace not seen since Bush Jr. Keystone cancellation had NO IMPACT on gas supplies. If anything, it preserved the bottleneck in the upper midwest that results in LOWER prices. Crude inventories are down, but that is because refiners are cranking up production. I mean there probably is a lot of things you can complain about with Biden, but rising gas prices is not one of them. If anything, those rising gas prices reflect Biden's success in stimulating the economy and improving consumer confidence, not any policy of not approving leases on federal land.

That must be why they say progessivism is a mental disorder. It attracts people with bad wiring in their heads. Not only are they incapable of judging accurately their own bad judgement and actions, but they see the disasters they create either as a good thing or as always someone else's fault but their own.

OPEC's price basket is standing at $71.32. That's a good price for domestic producers since we have the highest production costs in the world.

Your post is total bullshit.
