Can we let go of this flippin myth. As you can see from another poster, drilling on public lands is UP, approval of already granted leases is coming at record breaking pace, a pace not seen since Bush Jr. Keystone cancellation had NO IMPACT on gas supplies. If anything, it preserved the bottleneck in the upper midwest that results in LOWER prices. Crude inventories are down, but that is because refiners are cranking up production. I mean there probably is a lot of things you can complain about with Biden, but rising gas prices is not one of them. If anything, those rising gas prices reflect Biden's success in stimulating the economy and improving consumer confidence, not any policy of not approving leases on federal land.

Of course the oil industry and it's minions are going to blame it on Biden. These jerks would be drilling in Yellowstone Park if we let them. They would be polluting our air and water to do it. Fossil fuels are not sustainable and we will need to increase our production of renewable energy.

I suggest you read the Forbes article. The gist is that the Biden EOs have had very little effect on the energy industry. The only thing that Biden was pushing that affected the energy industry was a suspension of new oil leases for 60 days which is not unusual for a new administration.

A second question is whether OPEC has the spare capacity to raise production significantly. In addition to this shale oil producers are not ramping up production significantly. Apparently they prefer high prices.

Despite a Pledge to Ban It, Oil and Gas Permitting Is Up Under Biden

Biden should call Trump and ask his advice on how to keep oil prices down. I doubt we'll ever see gas under 2 dollars a gallon again.
