Does anyone else remember the hoax email a few years ago about needles being hidden in things where they might poke someone? It looks like it's actually happened in Vancouver Washington.

A scary day for three people in Vancouver who reported being pricked by hidden hypodermic needles taped to door knobs and a payphone Friday afternoon.




Now Vancouver Police want to know who’s responsible.

Officer David Chamblee with the Vancouver Police Department said the first call came in around 12:30 p.m. from someone at the Vancouver Public Library at 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd.

The caller was reportedly pricked by a needle that someone had taped to the handset of a payphone.

Chamblee said a few hours later two other people called to report similar incidents at the Kinkos/FedEx located at 303 E. 15th St, and Moody Brews coffee shop at 309 E 15th Street.

A scary day for three people in Vancouver who reported being pricked by hidden hypodermic needles taped to door knobs and a payphone Friday afternoon.

First, apples rust quickly, within five minutes any area touched by the metal would would have very visible discoloration, after a couple hours ... even a starving person would notice. Secondly, you missed your own point, the kids go straight for the candy, putting it in apples would be a complete waste of time. Now, if you think they can put them in candy, try it yourself and you will see it's virtually impossible. I can't remember where that myth started nor why, I believe Penn and Teller actually debunked that one, but it's true, there are no actual cases in which this has happened anywhere.
