I saw the country really start to divide in 2000. The democrats started the current civil war when Bush defeated Algore. The level of hate from the democrats grew over 8 years and by 2008, Republicans and democrats were not political opponents, but bitter enemies.

I suspect that the nation would be less divided had Hillary defeated the Marxist Messiah, but alas the god that the democrats waited for became ruler, and brought back racism, which had been defeated in the 1970's.
