Here’s a sob story about a college%educated professional who can’t support his four kids without the enchanted government child support

What it looks like to me is middle middle or upper middle middle class people trying to live like upper middle class or lower lower upper class.

God has all the power to create universes yet he still begs for your money at church....Funny how that works.
It is better when one parent is a stay-at-home parent to help raise a family compared to when both parents work...
It's not God's fault that you human beings have filled your hearts with sin and corrupted His world.

Don't worry zipper head, He is going to return and set it all straight. You can be on the right side of history or you can shake your fist at God and be an eternal loser.

You do have a choice.

They picked the architect because that's their audience

It's not about convincing anyone

It's about pandering to their readers

Also why student debt relief gets such big play in much of the media. Because their whole readership has these debts

Software Engineer!
What a joke!
Does he have a hard science degree?
When the market crashes he will never find another job.
And yes, you have to keep up with the Joneses..
You notice it didn’t say what his salary is? Software engineers, by which I assume means computer programmer, were hitting $100k by age 30. The family income is most likely in the six-figures, and if that isn’t enough for the four kids they spawned, the mother needs to get a job and contribute to the income rather than cry about how her welfare is being reduced.

Back in the day, Mom didn't have to work because Dad made enough at his Union job to support the family and the wealthy paid their fair share in taxes.

What exactly is a software architect compared to a software engineer?

If it follows construction conventions, than an architect is more involved with user interfaces than the hard structure of the programming in question.

The days of overpaid factory workers is over. Besides, that’s not the issue with this family - Dad is a college-educated professional.

The answer is that mom has to take a part-time job, NOT that she gets to stay home and take OTHER PEOPLE‘S MONEY - many from people with lower incomes. - to support her family.

You're conflating two issues here

The state did very little to subsidize your parents financial situation....

It's a wage issue...Between women working and the rest of the world catching up that's why our labor is worth less. Not because you can tax "the rich" to equality

The rich don't have enough wealth to tax. And corporations will leave with their dollars if we raise corporate taxes. Which is why tax havens work.

You have to raise the value of labor to get labor more money in a sustainable way. Things like ending low skill migration and convincing women to be stay at home mothers would be a much better start than taking the pittance we can find on the top .01% or even 1%

I don’t know the answer, but it doesn’t really matter. The article wouldn’t even disclose his salary because they knew readers would be irate when a six-figure professional with a stay-at-home wife is complaining they need to have more welfare to support the family while senior citizens are getting by on $40,000 a year, or less, and are the ones to pay the price.

I think he makes less than a software engineer but probably thinks he can live like one.

College educated doesn't mean as much as it used to. Idiots who don't know math or English get into college and take remedial classes while there. In reality, these people just aren't college material.
Lol, that is where you are wrong it is way more difficult to get into four year university s than it use to be, the competition is much greater than it was twenty years ago.

As long as you understood that other people, with moderate incomes and no children, paid the price so college-educated professionals earning six-figure incomes got government child support.
Yep we get it those tax breaks should not go to the middle class they should go to the ultra wealthy.

Sorry, but I am not going to cry when a college-educated professional complains that they can’t support their four kids on a single income, and expect to have other people fund child support payments so the wife doesn’t have to work.
It’s a tax credit. Who said anything about other people funding child support payments?
