Heidi Cruz History Of Mental Problems

And people wonder why our country is so divided? It's the fault of democrats and republicans.

No, it's the fault of morons and morons who listen to them.

We started down the wrong track when someone coined the phrase "You have to earn respect." BS....you should have to earn disrespect. Respect of your fellow man should be a given.

That's a load of BS if I've ever heard it. Common courtesy is provided. Respect is earned.

re·spect
rəˈspekt/
noun
  1. 1.
a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
"the director had a lot of respect for Douglas as an actor"
synonyms: esteem, regard, high opinion, admiration, reverence, deference, honor
"the respect due to a great artist"

  2. 2.
a particular aspect, point, or detail.
"the government's record in this respect is a mixed one"
synonyms: aspect, regard, facet, feature, way, sense, particular, point, detail
"the report was accurate in every respect"

Tell us, whom in the public eye do you respect? Have you met these people...do you really know anything about them?

I don't know your lean, nor do I care. The bottom line is, the hatred and constant fighting and negative campaigning from the republicans and democrats is certainly not UNITING our nation.

Well, honey, like they say - what goes around comes around. I'm just trying to toughen up the Commie Canuck Cruz family for the political battles that await them. I'm doing them a favor...

No...what you are doing is the time honored deception of disguising cruelty as candor. There was and is zero reason to spin bullshit like that at any point unless you do not know better and/or are desperate to score cheap points. You know better (or at least we all thought you did) and there is zero reason to score political points on a man's wife.

Again, you owe her an apology and if you had any honor...you'd retire as a poster for a while until you regain some much needed perspective. Right now...you are sick

You're entitled to your opinion - as am I...

Very well.

Can I ask you some questions...

DID REPORTING THIS LIKE YOU DID...

make you happy?
make you proud?
give you license to be offended when liberals/someone you support is unfairly attacked?
enrich you in any way?

No?

Then whyď you do it?

Why'd you answer the questions for me?

I didn't...which is why I put a question mark behind the "no". In truth, we all know the answer; you are no more happy, no more proud, and less enriched by your idiotic, tragic, juvenile, and classless actions here today so obviously the answer is no...

Which begs the final question; why do it? I doubt you're person enough to answer it...am I right? We'll see...won't we.

Why do it? Because I wanted to. Because I'm entitled to. Because it's based on facts. Because it's political. Because Commie Canuck Ted Cruz has formally announced his presidential candidacy. Because Heidi is now a public figure aspiring to be First Lady of the United States. Because Heidi took a leave of absence from Goldman Sachs to be an adviser to the campaign. Because there was a police report.

Do any of those answers satisfy your self-righteousness?

Buzzfeed News reported that Heidi Cruz struggled with depression in 2005 when she left her job in the White House and moved to Houston. An adviser to Cruz’s campaign, Jason Miller, said in a statement to Buzzfeed News:

About a decade ago, when Mrs. Cruz returned from D.C. to Texas and faced a significant professional transition, she experienced a brief bout of depression. Like millions of Americans, she came through that struggle with prayer, Christian counseling, and the love and support of her husband and family.

Buzzfeed News also obtained a redacted police report from a September 2005 incident in Austin, Texas, where Heidi Cruz was found sitting in a grassy area in between an onramp and a freeway, with her head in her hands and no sign of a vehicle nearby.

According to the report, the responding officer believed Heidi was a “danger to herself,” and gave her a ride home in his patrol car. Heidi Cruz told police she wasn’t drunk (saying she’d only had sips of Margarita with dinner) and hadn’t taken medication. The officer said he didn’t detect intoxication.

Heidi Nelson Cruz, Ted’s Wife: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

If she wants to be First Lady - then she is fair game.

I disagree. Going at someone because of a health issue is really low and says more about the person doing it than the person suffering it.

You have every right to disagree - as do I...

Yup.

Mental illness is not a joke and making fun of it to score political points isn't very funny to me. That's my opinion.

This thread is beyond the pale. But we're witnessing the humanity of some coming out in posts. And lack thereof in others.

One of the most amazing moments in American political history was the way both sides of the aisle were compassionate to a great First Lady Betty Ford.

The way President Ford and his wife were so honest and upfront about her addiction to alcohol. We turned this amazing corner with that First Family and opened a dialogue that changed so many lives.

Her candor over her mastectomy was jaw dropping at the time and she kicked it up notches beyond on raising breast cancer awareness.Betty Ford was awesome.

Of course you had some assholes out there who couldn't deal her honesty but they were a minority as compared to today.

She was a very very special lady. And people cared about her rather than savaging her.

Cruz to Skip “Exploratory Committee,” Go Straight for the Grift Top Ticket

Man’s in a big hurry — Destiny does not wait patiently. Schliefer goes into detail on Cruz’s history in Texas politics, and the reasoning of the Republicans supporting (or not supporting) his bid. But the brief reference to Cruz’s wife reminded me thatBuzzfeed, a few days ago, published a long rambling puff piece on Heidi Cruz channeling the spirit of a old-fashioned let’s-get-out-in-front-of-this-potentially-problematic-information publicity manager. Just as Laura Bush had that tragic automobile accident back in her youth, Heidi Cruz has been treated for depression. So have millions of other Americans, of course, but it’s the kind of information a presidential candidate, especially in the GOP, might find embarrassing. It is a very sympathetic article, but I’ll admit I had trouble following some of the narrative assumptions:

… For Cruz, the former Heidi Nelson, the trajectory was always expected to involve big things. She grew up in California with a religious family of Seventh-day Adventists, who stressed that personal success could be measured by good works. At just 4 years old, she began accompanying her parents on mission trips to Africa, where they provided free dental care to locals. When she was 12, she read a Time magazine article about the 1980 presidential election, and started to take an interest in government as a vehicle for public service, in its most literal sense. By the time she arrived at Claremont-McKenna College, a small liberal arts school outside of Los Angeles, she was plotting the intricacies of a career trajectory designed to one day land her a plum appointment in the federal government working in international affairs — an area where she felt she could make a difference in the world.

“She really knew where she wanted to go, and was all about getting there,” said Ed Haley, a Claremont professor who became Cruz’s mentor… But she had little interest in being a lawyer; she wanted her private-sector training to be in business. So, they discussed which corporate skill sets might best position her for a job in a future administration, and she settled on finance…

After a few years at J.P. Morgan in New York, she went to Harvard Business School and emerged, MBA in hand, with a bevy of lucrative job offers — including a highly coveted spot at Goldman Sachs.

Instead, she took an unpaid job on George W. Bush’s 2000 campaign….

It was there that she met Ted Cruz, the ostentatiously brilliant, motor-mouthed Harvard Law grad who liked to talk about his debate championships, Supreme Court clerkship, and big plans for the future. Some in Bush headquarters were repelled by Ted’s transparent ambition and steroid-infused self-confidence, but Heidi was drawn to him. She ended the campaign with a new husband, and an offer to work at the U.S. trade representative’s office….

When Ted did eventually embark on a long-shot bid for the U.S. Senate in 2012, he suggested to Heidi, “Sweetheart, I’d like us to liquidate our entire net worth” — more than $1 million — “and put it into the campaign.” The way he would tell it to the New York Times, his steadfast rock of a wife “astonished” him when she said without hesitating, “Absolutely.” But in her version of the story, she reacted to her husband’s proposal more like the savvy banker that she was. As she would recall to Politico, she proposed not investing any of their own money in the campaign “unless it made the difference between winning and losing.” Really, she wanted to test the viability of his campaign by seeing if he could drum up funds from other donors. As she put it, it was “just common investment sense.”

November 2012 was a big month for the Cruzes: Nine days after Ted won his insurgent Senate race, Goldman Sachs announced that Heidi would be promoted to managing director. And though she continued to miss the public sector, her success at Goldman enabled to get the firm involved in various philanthropic projects, temporarily satisfying her appetite for service, she has said….

It may just be my stubborn Democratic mindset that I can’t understand the logic of “I wanted to improve life for poor people in foreign countries, so I worked hard to get George W. Bush elected, served a stint in the Latin American branch of Condelezza Rice’s NSC, and then took a high-level job at Goldman Sachs while my husband broke into big-time Texas politics.” But then again, Laura Bush did get to be First Lady… for all the good it did her (not to mention the rest of us).

Much More: Cruz to Skip ''Exploratory Committee'', Go Straight for the Grift Top Ticket

It's very interesting how quickly Heidi was promoted at Goldman Sachs after Ted was elected Senator. Only nine days later...

If you don't think it's going to be discussed, especially with a police report out there, you're fooling yourself so don't.

So the wife of Ted Cruz has a history of mental illness....is that a big surprise? Have you listened to Ted speak? Does it sound like he's in touch with reality?

As for self-righteousness...I'm far from it. A 7 year old would know that you were wrong to highlight her condition as it does nothing except make those who suffer from mental illness less willing to discuss it and seek help...because if they do, some asshole like yourself is waiting to snipe at them from the cowardly veil of anonymity.

I found this:

The U.S. Surgeon General has reported that rates of co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, especially alcohol, are higher among Native Americans, and that the suicide rate among American Indians and Alaska Natives is 50 percent higher than the national rate.

http://www.tribalconnections.org/ehealthinfo/mentalhealth.html

We can assume that there isa very good chance the OP is mentally ill, abuses drugs, and is an alcoholic.

I say that because:

Because I wanted to.
Because I'm entitled to.
Because it's based on facts.
Because it's political.
Because Lakhota brought it up in a public forum.
Because Lakhota posted about the subject in a public forum.

It's time the truth came out.

Wrong. She had an episode of depression.
She cured her mental illness. Lakhota, not so much.

Maybe she did maybe she didn't. Depression can often be life long. Why should that make a difference?
Because it's a non-issue. Any evidence she still suffers from depression? Nope.

One ignorant post? Hardly...facts are facts and apparently it's perfectly okay to play the parlor game about who is mentally ill and who isn't.

I'm certainly not stating Native Americans are like Lakhota....every one I've met (living in Arizona, there are plenty I have come across during hikes in the North of the State) would rather eat dirt than go out of their way to lambast someone's wife because they don't like her husband's politics. Lakhota is the exception to such decency.

Hopefully Ted didn't get her diagnosed or treatment or he's in deep shit for his campaign. He needs to tell her to shut the hell up and just smile and wave to the crowd. I've been down town and seen the mental hospitals and someone makes a scene there every day then they get tackled by security. Ted doesn't need that shit. Actually, he's better of dumping her to the curb. Ditch the *****.
