I hope Trump can get him the staff in key positions he needs to implement his changes. People like DOGE to straighten out the business end, including better cost controls and a vision fighting for the next war, not the last war.

If anyone really would qualify, it would be a guy like Hegseth...Someone who has actually been in action and command of troops, knows what weapons systems work and which ones are junk, has been situated between the grunts and the dusty butt brass throwing around the orders...Someone other than the high-speed-low-drag, medal inflated, ass kissing political climbers, that have infested the Pentagon for far too long.
That doesn't mean that it necessarily has to be Hegseth, just that he's exactly the kind of individual who would be well suited to clean up the bloated ponderous mess the Pentagon as devolved into.

He sees Russia and China as our enemies and he thinks America being more aggressive, and flexing its military muscle is somehow the answer to the unexistent problem he's conjured up in his mind. That can lead to an unnecessary conflict between us and these two nuclear powers. The last thing the American working class or anyone else needs is America fighting a war with China and/or Russia.
