Word is there were Republicans actually hoping to see Pelosi pull off the vote - now she is in increasingly agitated waters and will be sinking soon.

Watch for the Pelosi bill to be picked apart and shown to be the government monstrosity it is in the coming days and weeks, and watch the Democrat Senate back off from Pelosi and treat her like the oddball leftist nut she is - with more than a bit of warning to the White House that they too best back off from Pelosi as well.

There will be a much-watered down reform bill that Obama will sign in the spring - UNLESS the House Democrats battle it out against the Senate version. (at which point the political fallout will be huge for the Democrats) By then what Pelosi attempted will be well known to all, and the power brokers in her own party will place the blame on her. There will be a move by moderates in the House for her to step down - she will fight it of course, and may succeed until the 2010 elections, at which time she will be forced to step down regardless of whether Dems maintain the majority or not as the damage will be great to the party either way.
