And I guess you don't think voters can mamke a mistake. America fucked up Dresden and thats all there is to it. They didn't vote because of candidate quality, they voted because they believe that trump will lower prices and some voted for him because they think he's going to send them a check.and yet she was rejected ...how come millions in your party rejected her for hitler?.....
Congress sent checks, Trump took credit. He's reaping the political reward 4 years later
Oprah Winfrey recounted an interaction with a Black man who told her heās voting for Trump at the airport ahead of a Farmington Hills campaign event with Vice President Kamala Harris last month.
āHe goes, āIām voting for Trump because he gave me that check,ā ā Winfrey told the audience. āIāve heard that from several people: that I got the check. He gave us the check. And so therefore, forget about everything else. Itās about the checks.ā
The Trump supporterās comment is a familiar one for Black voters across the country and in Detroit.
Itās been suggested by popular rappers in interviews and songs. Detroitās Babyface Rayās 2021 hit āIf You Know You Knowā features the hook: āIām tipping, pass it out like Trump.ā
And it all stems from the up to $1,200 and $600 pandemic relief checks sent out in March and December 2020. Another round of checks for up to $1,400 went out in March 2021 as part of the American Rescue Plan Act, signed into law by President Joe Biden.
Many have credited Trump for those funds, as well as Congress' Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which Trump signed into law. The PPP funds were meant for small businesses to stay afloat amid pandemic closures and an uncertain economy. He eventually signed the stimulus package, along with an annual spending bill, scrambling to get his name on the checks in the days before payments went out.
āThat money was taxpayer dollars,ā said former state Rep. Sherry Gay-Dagnogo. āDuring COVID, Congress passed legislation to move that money. We need civics back in school because people donāt even understand the process. The money didnāt come out of Trumpās pocket, he didnāt go and tell Congress, it was the other way around. Trump insisted on signing the checks.ā
