Zone1 Have we lost The Bible Story?

The link in Post #113 was too long to read. Why don't I weasel the short answer out of you.
There's really no short answer that can give it credibility or justice. I'm not a Catholic and so to get to the short strokes would only earn me criticism.

There's a good reason why the answer is so long. Let it go if you don't care.

Or you could ask Ding or Meriweather for their own short answer?

Don't Catholics believe in Hell?

I sure thought they did
Absolutely Catholics believe in hell. Catholics are also aware Dante's version of hell is a work of fiction, not a work of scripture. Hell is separation from God. Think about it. God is good and God is love. Being separated from goodness and love is a very unpleasant reflection. At least for many.

I don't hate you and in no way is this personal. What I have done is outline the Gospel.

The Bible says: while we were sinners, Christ died for us. Perhaps I misunderstood your post, but you seem to extol a system wherein you can earn your salvation, or somehow improve upon it. For example you talked about our conscience and being "useful". The Bible says all our good works are like "filthy rags"; IOW we should not judge ourselves by human standards, but by God's.

This inevitably leads one to ponder the Cross--our only hope.
Yes, there is hate when you falsely accuse a person of even thinking salvation can be earned. No one believes that, yet Catholics are wrongfully, hatefully accused of this. It is a wicked, ignorant thing to accuse someone of--especially a person who has spent over ten years here explaining Catholic belief. TEN YEARS

Studying one's conscience is not improving on salvation. It is about improving one's behavior, one's interactions with others. It's, "How can I improve? How can I be more loving?" not how can I "earn" or "have more" salvation!

Yes, I'm still frosted! Something I will be studying my conscience about before bedtime and tomorrow morning as well.

I'd guess the two chinchillas act slightly differently but there is nothing they might do that would get you angry. You'd just say, they are just doing what chinchillas do. In my mind, that would be the mindset of the Christian God. Forgive them, they know not what they do.
Expectations. That is the difference from tending two chinchillas and two humans. As you point out, I accept what chinchillas may get up to. I am not accepting of what students may get up to--or not live up to.

I'm sure all disagreeing parties say that about everyone but themselves.
Your seeing it that way would be a sign of bias as well. I can see someone disagreeing with me as not biased if their argument is objective. Objectivity - in and of itself - does not guarantee accuracy. All it guarantees is that the person has evaluated both sides of an argument. Errors are still possible.

I have no problems with it.
Im not the one that has to make things up to justify the silly beliefs.
Don't for a second believe you don't make things up to justify your positions. Because you do. You dismiss ancient accounts as fairytales when in reality that was how information was passed down in antiquity. That you can't bother to seek alternative explanations is your lack of objectivity.

In other words, let someone tell you what was really meant. Not what the words actually say!
Yall pull this crap every thread
There is a vast difference reading a translated passage that was written in another era, for another culture, and in another language, than studying that passage with someone whose first language and culture is Hebrew.

If that is true you are the only here who does. Besides twisting language, why are you here?
I didn't twist any language. That you are too prideful to accept defeat isn't my fault.

But to answer your question, I'm here to outsmart the people who are here to outsmart the people.

So every Christian that cant speak Hebrew or Greek, are living a lie. Thanks for the clarification.

Grin. On your own, you can't even correctly understand one sentence written in your language, in your day. How can you expect to correctly understand 73 books written in ancient languages for ancient cultures?
