Have any of you trusted Amazon with a code to your home?

In rural areas, the delivery drivers are, for the most part, well known to the folks. Our only trespassers up here are bears who steal our garbage and make a huge mess!!!

Yeah- we don't have much in the way of neighbors, but we're on first name basis with the fed ex driver, mailman (gal, actually) and such. The delivery folks hate coming here because James was insane when he carved out the driveway for the place.

Just had my first package stolen a few days ago from my porch.
It is a very dirty feeling and severely pisses me off.

Anyone try the Amazon key or code feature?
how many amazon employees are doing the stealing. Take the package to the door, take the photo as proof, then pick up the package and leave.

Alarms don't prevent theft. I've been robbed a couple times in my life. 1 car. 1 audio system. Both had alarms

I have an alarm system and a surveillance system along with two big dogs not to mention all of our real valuables are in the gun safe which is bolted to the floor, and anything real expensive is in a safety deposit box.
The only way into my neighborhood is through the front gates which are monitored.
When the dogs accidently set of the alarm system the cops were there in less than five minutes.
We've lived here for 16 years now and there has been one break in in our neighborhood. They came in on foot off the golf course and didnt get away with much.
All you can really do is make it difficult enough to make thieves go somewhere else thats easy pickens.
And crime is almost non existent in our area because we pay the cops for 24 hour security.

In our old neighborhood we had one attempted home invasion which is why we moved to the gated neighborhood and had a chevy truck stolen at a mall.

Now that you let everyone know the details, what time do you walk your dogs?

I had a giant dog till he passed away a few years ago. He was 160 pounds of love. Rocky- he was the love of my life, lol! Don't tell James.

But he was a huge baby chicken and had a sweet nature despite his crazy OCD. He would definitely have helped robbers tote stuff out if they asked him nicely.

Now we have two little ones that are worthless as guard dogs, but as watch dogs, their barks peel paint off the walls.

Closest thing to a gun safe I have is the drawer in the table next to my recliner and the one next to my bed.

My Beauceron Mix (Rambo) is part Huskey...so he has one blue eye and one brown eye.

He'll rip your arms off if you're in the house and don't belong. He's about 9 years old.

1. Dogs are easily distracted by raw meat.
2. Cameras prevent nothing.
3. Unless you used lag bolts that safe will come up in 10 seconds
