Have any of you trusted Amazon with a code to your home?

My Beauceron Mix (Rambo) is part Huskey...so he has one blue eye and one brown eye.

He'll rip your arms off if you're in the house and don't belong. He's about 9 years old.

Rocky only got aggressive a couple times. One time, my girlfriend asked to stay with us a few days. He was fine till her boyfriend tried to come in, then he turned into a werewolf. He had to stay upstairs with the door shut the whole time. Come to find out, he was a better judge of character than my friend and the guy was not a good one.

1. Dogs are easily distracted by raw meat.
2. Cameras prevent nothing.
3. Unless you used lag bolts that safe will come up in 10 seconds

The safe is bolted to the concrete. And even if it wasn't good luck moving it.
It took four of us to get it inside,if I had to guess it weighs around 800 lbs....empty.
While you could distract the dogs with meat you have to get inside first, breaking the glass would set off the alarm system.
And the cops would be there in 5 minutes. Thats not even enough time to take down the big screen off the wall.
If they wore ski mask yes the cameras would be worthless except to the insurance company. And of course they'd have footage of their vehicle at the gate both coming and going.
Like I said earlier....the idea is to make them look elsewhere for easier pickings.

We can't rely on anyone to get out here in time. Cops might get here in a jiffy of about 20-30 minutes, but the volunteer fire dept. might take a lot longer.

By the time anyone gets here, it'd be all over.

Rambo doesn't care. He's tentative even when I feed him by hand.
He sniffs it first and then slowly opens his mouth.
He's got a long memory too.
He remembers my vet cut his nuts off.

Right on. I assumed we were talking about a valuables safe not a LEGIT safe. Mine is "bolted" to the floor but not with lag bolts so I'm under no delusions.
But you need to be aware that demo and theft are not activities where you're being careful of the walls and each other's backs

I would certainly put a camera inside before giving a delivery company the door code. The deep pockets of the company may cover any loss or damage, but you will still have to prove they did it to their insurance company.

That was the big joke when we lived on the river in Junction Tx.
The volunteer fire dept. would get there just in time to hose the slab off.

Exactly. There wouldn't likely be enough coals to brown a marshmallow.

The safe is in what we call the gun room.
While there is some stuff to steal in there it's not likely they'd take it unless they were fans of building AR's.
I keep all of my hunting gear there like duck decoys and the like. Aloso have a closet with a deadbolt they could break into but again the only thing of value would be some cold weather gear and the recorder for the surveillance system. While they'd probably take the camera recorder it wouldnt do them any good since we have offsite recorders as well.

Everyone has a camera don't they? The problem is that big city D.A.'s refuse to prosecute shop lifting and it ain't likely that the local Police are going to give a damn even if you furnish them with a photo and a license plate number for a package snatching. Welcome to Biden's world.

True for the most part.
We live in an affluent area so they take it a bit more seriously.

Just had my first package stolen a few days ago from my porch.
It is a very dirty feeling and severely pisses me off.

Anyone try the Amazon key or code feature?

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck no!
