While China is still #1 in GHGs, we are #2 currently, and in total GHGs emitted since the industrial revolution, we are #1. We cannot adapt to it getting hot enough to make areas uninhabitable. That eliminates both agriculture and people. You want to cut overspending? Cut the subsidies for fossil fuels. Update our grid so we lose far less in transmission. Encourage residential generation and storage. It is the use of fossil fuels that is manipulating the climate. And while this is happening with have an insane and incompetent admin that is cutting funding to the Weather Service and NOAA so horrors like just happened yesterday in Texas are not caught in time for a timely warning.

All the trillions and trillions spent on so-called green energy, all the restrictions, mandatory stuff, bans and requirements have not reduced the CO2 in the atmosphere by a single particle or reduced temperatures anywhere by a single degree.

The world needs to start putting resources into practical and EFFECTIVE ways to adjust to inevitable climate change and stop the insanity that accomplishes nothing other than taking away people choices, options, liberties, and opportunities.

The phenomenon of stratospheric cooling while the troposphere warms is a significant aspect of the global climate system. This cooling has been attributed to human-induced increases in greenhouse gases, which retain heat more effectively in the troposphere. The study by UCLA-led researchers indicates that from 1986 to 2022, the human-produced greenhouse gases led to a mean cooling of about 1.8 to 2.2 degrees Celsius in the middle and upper stratosphere globally. This cooling is 12 to 15 times greater than what could have been caused by natural variations. Ocean levels
Atmospheric thickness
Temperature
Humidity


What controls those?

The amount of ice on the planet. Period. Ocean level is 100% inversely correlated to Earth ice content (on land, not sea ice, which is pathetically small) - duh. Trapped in ice age glacier is compressed gas. When it snows 10 feet, you can compress...
