Hard Truths....What's Your Example?

'Life's a ***** and then you die.'

Deductions, deductions, deductions.
After the deductions, the top marginal rate was nowhere near
your 70-91% rate. FACT :smoke:
Top effective rate was 50-60%

Today it’s 20-30%

You guys really have no idea down there how much you’re handing up to us up here. Keep up the fight! I appreciate it.

Now we have the top % owns everything a shrinking middle class and a brainwashed populace that thinks that the wealthy should not pay their fair share anymore because they have been fooled into believing that how we rain the US in its heyday in now communist, socialist, marxist or whatever ist they have been conned into believing.

How does the middle class amount to more than mediocre?
What is this imaginary fairness you speak of, and who gets to decide what is fair without that being unfair to start with?

You seem to be the person who has been conned, and into believing something that doesn't exist and or has never worked properly can somehow be achieved or better managed by folks who haven't accomplished much, or they wouldn't be bitching about what they don't have.

Listen genius. I am a c-suite corporate executive in the top half percent of incomes. I have multiple degrees and multiple homes. I could care less if you keep getting what you vote for which is less taxes for me and those way wealthier than me.

I’m just educating you on how we got to a place where folks like you worry about folks like me. I love it!

That is exactly how we flew form Kittyhawk to the moon in 70 years with high taxes on the wealthy. If you did your own research you'd know that:

Before 1980 (post-WWII)
  • Top marginal income tax rate: 70–91% (1940s–1970s)
  • Capital gains: taxed close to ordinary income
  • Estate taxes: strong and widely enforced
Result:
  • Rapid economic growth
  • Rising middle class
  • Low wealth inequality by historical standards
  • This period is often called the “Great Compression.”

After 1980 (we were already on the moon by then)

Reagan:
  • Top marginal rate cut from 70% → 50%
  • Capital gains taxes reduced
Bush:
  • Top marginal rate cut from 50% → 28%
  • Capital gains and dividends capped at 15%
  • Estate tax weakened and temporarily repealed
Clinton:
  • Top marginal rate raised from 28% → 39%
Trump:
  • Top marginal rate cut from 39% → 37%
  • Corporate tax rate slashed 35% → 21%
  • Permanent corporate cuts
  • Temporary individual cuts that became permanent

Now we have the top % owns everything a shrinking middle class and a brainwashed populace that thinks that the wealthy should not pay their fair share anymore because they have been fooled into believing that how we rain the US in its heyday in now communist, socialist, marxist or whatever ist they have been conned into believing.
These are fact geniuses. Never underestimate the laziness of Americans. Even my posts are harder working than yours. No wonder I am a top earner and you guys are fighting for me!

Rubes serve the masters.

You claim that you are doing OK so start caring for those strangers you claim to care so much about out of your own pocket. Give till it hurts Foghorn.

Meh, I think you are just handing out wolf tickets....Talking a big game but looking out after yourself.

Me, I'll look after me and mine (out of my own pocket) and call it a day.

And you are still stupid as ****.

You aren't even talking about 'fairness', but the desire to handicap everything in attempts to justify cheating for the sake of armed robbery by the government.

I am certainly not worried about you, because you are just whiney fool crying about what you have not accomplished, pretending the degrees you got somehow made you smarter.

What a load of diseased cum. The 1970's was malaise and stagflation. And the diversity, equality, affirmative action and feminism ramped up the first year or so of the decade. Our manufacturing was slowing down and started to be sold off. Our tax system was killing the working person as there was no indexing, and the mid 1960's social programs legislation was growing quickly as the then Prog slied again on that. City, state and local government authorities massively raised taxes. We went from a creditor nation to a debtor nation just around when Joe showed up in 1972. Up until then we had roughly a balanced budget. Automobiles, steel, electronics, TV, stereos and radio, etc. sold off to foreigners. And there was more. All of our state, city, local and federal governments grew as taxes were raised in all ways.

Listen 1stAssLicker, what I do with MY money is up to ME, right?

Feel free to rely on our generosity.

The average American gives 2% of their earning to Charity.
  • Conservatives give 1.0% to Charity and 1.2% to Churches.
  • Liberals give 1.6% to Charity and 0.4% to Churches.
Again, I am fine with what you all want me to keep from my earnings. No complaints.

Yup, and drives a beat up Ford Pinto.
You guys can pretend I am a poser. I dont mind. But it doesnt change anything I post.

I only post this shit to reinforce how ridiculous your support of the policies that go to me are. I just dont get it.

Anyway, I am not a car guy. I drive a 4Runner Limited. Have had a 4Runner Ltd for 16 straight years (13 on the first one, 3 on this one) - utterly reliable even if low gas mileage. Wife drives a Lexus. Both boys I got Subarus.

I've never gotten a job from a poor person.

So we need to tax the the rich even more, right?
A very true maxim.

Another is life isn't always going to be fair. Sometimes the worst sorts or the richest people will win the lottery and the poorest, most honorable won't. The person who is the most dishonest, ugly, disruptive in the work force gets the promotion and the most deserving doesn't. And the rest of us just need to suck it up and understand all the nuances of 'tough titmouse.'

The average is nothing to aspire to and is nothing more than mediocre.
No one is asking you if we are free to do what we wish you fascist piece of shit.

And if your stupid ass is fine with it all, and you have no complaints, then shut the **** up, dumbass.

I want to continue to thank you guys for thinking of me in the voter booth and I wont shut up about it. I owe you guys. Low taxes for the top tier is very generous of you.

No 'thank you' is necessary because I don't give a shit whether or not you like it, and I meant to shut up with all your crying about how unfair or unbalanced everything is, and it doesn't surprise me that your highly educated ass couldn't figure those simple things out.
