He added, “What we have been clear about is that this budget that is working its way through the House of Representatives is a non-starter. Every single Democrat opposed it a few days ago, and I believe that will continue to be our position because it’s out of control.”"

Why does this Democrat want to shutdown the federal gov't? I thought they think a closed federal gov't endangers the people who depend on the govt.

I think this is so funny. Democrats are so against cuts to the federal government that they are willing to shut down the whole government to stop Trump. Bring it on!

The problem with winning the presidency AND congress AND having the SCOTUS pretty much in your back pocket is that you now own it ALL.
Even the dysfunction. You don't have the option anymore of blaming it on someone else because there IS no one else.
You control it all.
If you (Republicans & Donald Trump) are unable to reach deals with the opposition party then that reflects innefficient, incompetent governing and voters will hold you accountable for that.
Especially if your incompetence is messing with their pocketbooks.
If Trump's 2025 agenda winds up wreaking havok in red states and affected voters start burning up the phones calling their elected representatives wanting to know "WHAT THE FUCK?" those politicians are going to have no one to blame but themselves.....or Trump.
"Better to blame Trump," they will ultimately decide.
Then they'll begin, one by one, tossing him under the bus....up to even a third impeachment.....with a REAL conviction this ttme.
I look for the bleeding to start next year when the midterm campaigning really gets going.

The low hanging fruit the DOGE cucks have been wading through are designed to get people like you outraged and fired up. But in the grander scheme of making progress
in reducing the deficit and debt....this stuff..is peanuts. But you get yourself all worked up!

One notices that there is far more outrage from those reflexively opposed to ANY attempts at curtailing government overspending than from anyone else. And yes, it was designed to cause that exact response, because they are now on record as opposing even the smallest of cuts.

If they would vote for Trumps budget as dictated to Speaker Johnson, they aren't sane DEMs.

So no sane DEMs would be voting for the budget as any DEMs voting for the budget is by definition not sane.
