In Democrat happy Maryland the Republican Larry Hogan surged to the State House in Annapolis, being inaugurated last January. He quickly got to work, but soon faced an obstacle bigger than anyone ever imagined.

Diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and found to have dozens of tumors, the Governor braved resolved to continue working, even while fighting to overcome this deadly illness. A year later, he was cancer free. Oh, and also suppressed the Baltimore riots, forged an agreement between environmental and agricultural interests to reform environmental regulations, closed a detention facility that was so deplorable it incurred class action 8th amendment lawsuits, eliminated a structural deficit on the state's budget, and pushed through a repeal of the insidious rain tax.

Let's hear it for this marvelous man.

Governor Larry Hogan. Governor Lawrence J.Hogan, Jr. was inaugurated as the 62nd governor of the State of Maryland on January 21, 2015. He is only the second Republican governor in Maryland in nearly 50 years, and the first Maryland governor from Anne Arundel County to be elected in over 100 years.

I will, he beat more things in a shorter time than many. Facing cancer no one would have blamed him for walking away from his job. But he fought may battles on several fields at the same time.
And that takes guts. Respect the fighter if not the fight.
