CO2 does not drive the climate or temperature - not once, not ever. If CO2 worked as you allege, and it doesn't, all the times CO2 peaks we should see temperature rise. Instead the chart shows CO2 lagging temperature on increase and decrease 100% of the time

The amount of water vapor the atmosphere can hold is dependent on temperature. Under normal conditions, most of the heat emitted from Earth’s surface in the form of long wave radiation goes into the atmosphere and out into space. However, the presence of increased greenhouse gases traps more long-wave radiation, which means there is more energy in the atmosphere to warm the Earth’s surface.

As the atmospheric temperature rises, more water is evaporated from ground storage, such as that found in our rivers, oceans, soils, and reservoirs. The released water vapor becomes a greenhouse gas where it then absorbs more energy radiated from the Earth and thus warms the atmosphere. The warmer atmosphere results in further water evaporation and the cycle continues. This mechanism is known as a Positive Feedback Loop.

Scientists then need to focus on what is causing air temperatures to rise in the first place. Heat from Other Greenhouse Gases is Causing atmospheric Warming, Leading to an increase in water evaporation and compounding the greenhouse effect. Anthropogenic, or human-derived, CO2 serves as the Primary source of Warming with water vapor playing a Secondary role.
While CO2 occurs naturally in the atmosphere, human interference has interrupted the carbon cycle through activities, such as burning forests, mining, and burning coal. Furthermore, as deforestation continues around the world, there is less vegetation every year available to sequester the carbon. The purpose of controlling CO2 is to stop global warming. CO2 can be a product of the environment but the CO2 that raised our atmospheric levels from 280 ppm to 420 ppm and acidified our oceans IS NOT. It is the product of our fossil fuel usage.

We could run the economy into the dirt if that's what we wanted to do, but it is not. We wish to transition to non-emitting technologies wherever we are currently emitting GHGs. If we had started a dedicated effort to do so when scientists first told us it was needed, the transition would have been a GREAT deal less painful. But too many politicians listened to people like you and now things are getting a little desperate. Procrastination never makes things better and it certainly hasn't done so here.

H2O in the atmosphere becomes a BIG PROBLEM if there are two polar oceans and hence no ice on Earth. 30 ton Jurassic dinosaurs had feathers for several reasons

1 - it was raining if not all the time, almost all the time
2 - hurricanes etc. are correlated with heat and do get much bigger if oceans are 105F
3. - the atmospheric pressure at sea level was up to 50% greater - huge amounts of compressed gas in ice age glaciers - hence, flapping feathers would not make the creature fly, but it would help dramatically for maneuvers such as jumping on potential prey...
