It's occurred many times in the past several decades, where a group of American lives together in a compound, and maintains a large arsenal of weaponry. Like Waco.

And, usually the Federal Government, through the ATF, monitors these groups.

Should this be the case? Are you in favor of the Federal Government monitoring groups of Americans that have large collections of guns?

Additionally, should large weapons arsenals be illegal?

EDIT: I want to strike the above question and just focus on the question in my OP. Thanks

Large groups armed up do tend to draw attention, like skin heads in Idaho. As far as individual citizens go, however, as long as you aren't a felon and have no criminal background, I don't feel ATF should be involved or concerned with how much we decide to build our arsenal.

I only have a few, for target practice.

The federal government will do it's thing whether I'm in favor or not.

A "large arsenal of weaponry" legally obtained and legally owned, in and of itself, is no cause for alarm.

But it is the intent that should be of concern.

What was the intent of a single individual in possession of a single firearm in this instance?

Police: Gunman Said He Shot Philadelphia Cop in Islam's Name

Americans are not out to "get" America. They are out to defend themselves. From all enemies, foreign and domestic.

In the last seven years there has been such an enemy in the White House itself. He's subtle, cunning, and conniving. And his successors are lining up behind him. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

Who IS out to get America? The single gunman with the single weapon with the single purpose. In Islam's name.

Abandon the Democrat party. Abandon socialism. Abandon Progressives. Rid yourself of the Liberal disease that has infiltrated and permeated our once great Nation since Obama was first elected.

Let's get back to our roots.

To the root!

One has to wonder why is the federal government wants to watch these groups and not others. Child molesters are at least as dangerous as these people and so are illegal immigrants who cross the border to escape prosecution. The federal government doesn't seem interested in watching them at all but the minute you are in a position to threaten their authority in any way they then deem you as 'dangerous'.

How do you define large weapons arsenal? To some people that is two guns to others a 100 wouldn't qualify.

I don't know. Let's strike that question...and focus on the government monitoring of groups.
On what grounds would you monitor them? Without some evidence or reasonable suspicion that the group or people within the group were involved in something tllegal I don't know that you would have any legal justification to monitor them.

Do we have federal government programs to monitor people that talk too much?
Nowhere in our constitution does it give the fed govt power to monitor rights granted to law abiding citizenry. In fact, some departments that do that could be unconstitutional themselves. Our present ATF for example.
