Satire and Sarcasm escapes you.Who would have guessed your view of the world and your position in it is formed by a fictional movie.
Well we will strip mine those minerals...so they should just contract mine it.They have nice lives now. I'm quite sure that they aren't dreaming of joining a 1st world shit-hole country.
Not really.Satire and Sarcasm escapes you.
Strip mining is done up on the surface. Not one mile under the glacial ice.Well we will strip mine those minerals...so they should just contract mine it.
Rare earth is a gold mine
Why threatened. Too damn cold there. Not really.
But I won’t let myself be entertained by people threatening my freedom.
Well they will kill the ice first lolStrip mining is done up on the surface. Not one mile under the glacial ice.
Greenland's shrinking ice sheet and ice shelves, driven by climate change, are exposing mineral deposits, including rare earth metals. The cost of mining them is declining significantly. This could well be Trump's motive for an invasion. Since Greenlanders have no defense, they don't stand a change of protecting themselves from Trump.Strip mining is done up on the surface. They are backed by NATO. FAFO Drumpf.Greenland's shrinking ice sheet and ice shelves, driven by climate change, are exposing mineral deposits, including rare earth metals. Trump is certainly unlike any POTUS in history. I didn't mean to suggest any equivalence between Trump's threats and how Johnson and Truman approached obtaining the island, and, at first, I also believed it was another example of Trump's derangement syndrome on full display, but now I wonder if it's a tacit acknowledgement of the coming global crises set off by rising global temperatures by someone who publicly denies it even exists. This is a false equivalency. None of those other presidents suggested they’d “do whatever it takes” or that they’d take Greenland from Denmark by force.
Even if it’s just hot air, it’s very unpresidential and unAmerican
Although I mentioned military invasion, the invasion does not necessarily have to be military. However, America should ask itself, do we really want to go here. Increasing military presents is one thing, developing the country is a whole different ballgame. What invasion?

First, lets look at Greenland as it is today. It has a population of about 56,000 people. 88% are Intuits who have 3 different cultures and speak 2 intuit languages as well as Danish. They live mostly by hunting and fishing. There are 17 towns and 56 settlements where almost all of the people live. There are virtual no roads connecting the towns, and communication is poor.
80% of Greenland is covered by an ice sheet. It has some of the harshest winters in the world.
Demark supports Greenland at a cost of about 6 billion dollars US per a year. There is little to no development. The cost of bringing Greenland into the 21st century would be in the trillions of dollars.
The most likely form of invasion would be US dollars. However, as a friend that spent several years at the US base, Pituffik said, "Why would Americans want to invest US dollars here. It is a land of ice and snow year round. Most of the people don't want us here. And, any form of development would very expensive. There is nothing Greenland has that you can't get somewhere else a lot cheaper."
I don't thinks Trump's vision for America stretches any further than the end of his term in office. For Trump, Global Warming does not exist because it means nothing to him. America has never had such a short sighted president.Trump is certainly unlike any POTUS in history. Is Trump’s Greenland plan part of a scramble for the Arctic?
Why would we do that? We are only protecting ourselves, and also Canada.Alliances, Danes are our brothers.
We could easily be the same country.
So if US goes into isolation, it’s bad. It will render us all sorts of problems and we would miss you.
But the alternative, a US hunting us, our resources and think of us as of lesser value is worse.
We are already there, dumbass!Stay the fuck out your former allies countries.
You are doing it. There is no ”would” anymore. Why would we do that? We are only protecting ourselves, and also Canada.
Time to leave. We are already there, dumbass!
