Greenland voted for independence from Denmark, should they consider being a US territory?

If the people of Greenland WANT to be a US territory, I welcome it.
If not, we should maintain a close relationship.
We could certainly buy some of their useful natural resources, but they are not black, so Dems will not go for it.

They should but it will be a slow process. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see a greater US presence there.

I think this is a good idea for Greenland, and certainly for the USA from a strategic standpoint. Certainly to be able to have military bases and access to natural resources.
If the people of Greenland want to become a territory, they should vote on it and do it.
Trump should put together a deal.
The USA should not only be taking natural resources from black people in Africa…like cobalt from Congo.

Look at this destruction of the land of Congo…but Democrats do not care because Congo is a poor black country in Africa and Dems are racist.
Good point... Greenland wouldn't be a state..
At the moment they have two seats in the Danish Parliament and are supporting the Government in a coalition.
So they actually are in a pretty sweet position. For their support, the Government has to prioritise their concerns.
This what the rest of the world can't understand about US Congress... Why not vote independent with one mission, look after my area.
So his vote is for sale within reason for what ever he can get for his district on each vote... OR he can give support for something larger..

Maybe somebody needs to do a little PR campaign and explain to the Greenlanders what the benefits would be if they were to become a territory (or other subsidiarity) of the U.S.
Look at Puerto Rico, where half the population is either working for the government or is otherwise supported by the U.S. taxpayers. That's a good thing for them, eh?

US is 22nd on that list...
Puerto Rico is treated like dirt with GDP per captia of $37k, Mississippi is $53k....
Greenland has a GDP of $57k... But the also have free third level education, Healthcare, good social net.........

Same goes for Canada. The gov't in Ottawa will not allow the Canadian people to vote in a plebiscite to join the U.S.A.

Puerto Rico is as corrupt as can be. If the United States suffered a huge economic downturn, Puerto Rico would be jettisoned. Other territories most likely also. Greenland offers a return on investment.
