GREAT NEWS : A roll of toilet paper is literally more expensive than the putin´s ruble

Because population is such that no country is an island. Russia can't grow enough beef to feed its population. International trade is a must. Secondly...these prices were pre-sanctions. Burger King is not in Russia anymore.

How many currencies did Russia go through (because they failed) before the current one? (Hint:3)

MacDonald's finished their work, sold their restaurants to local businessman, who rebranded it to "Tasty and Point" and resumed it's work. Burger King, KFC, Texas Burger and many others just said "Let's go, Brandon, it's not our war", and continued their business as usual (actually better than usual, because "Tasty and Point" (ex-MacDonald's) lost some customers because of the rebranding) Just use Google map and search for their restaurants in Moscow or other cities.

Depends on the starting point. Actually, much more than 3. May be, more 30 since X century (with exception for "coinless age" XII-XIV centuries).

Ukrainian
"Moscow has been reduced to irrelevancy in the global economy as the world has moved on from Moscow energy, food, metals & other commodities. "Virtually every sector has collapsed with some such as automotive down more than 90%." Moscow economy is dying. Welcome back, Crimea.

Ukrainian counter offensice that will be decisive for Ukraine winning the war.

So we should wipe our asses with rubles to save money? How soft are they?

lol some loons on this board are making Big Scary Snivels about BRICS, a collection of failed states and one large one on the verge of failing.

I wonder, are the lines at the supermarkets for toilet paper as long as the lines at the banks? Converting rubles to toilet paper might be a wise investment move for the average Russian. :eusa_think:

Plus they know the toilet paper hasn't been pre-flushed...

Now if you look at the chart in the copied tweet you see that bump towards the latest date....that is from Russia using its reserves of metals and diamonds to prop up its currency. And they have used up 75+% of its estimated reserves in purchasing munitions and proping up its currency.

So....with further sanctions being applied to Russian diamonds (Meaning that Wagner just lost its paycheck) and the Russian economy is down by half....Russia is not going to survive much longer. The worst scenarios are possible for Russia. The next couple of months are going to be extremely telling for the outcome of this war. And the Ukranian front is not the only battle they have going on....there's another one in Syria...and Unrest in Georgia and....

Russia has more fight than they have funds. War is expensive and difficult.

What about American debts? Do you think that we can allow ourselves another war of attrition?
Russia, allied with China is unbeatable economically. China, allied with Russia is unbeatable militarily. Anyway, Russia always can sell some modern nukes to China, India, Iran. Increasing military pressure on China and economical pressure on Russia, Biden just strengthen their codependence and alliance. Therefore we need to become stronger to be able win (and survive) a nuclear war against Russia and China simultaneously, or to become smarter enough to find the angle and destroy their alliance.

Nope....not happening.
Biden's planned budget is to spend the economy into prosperity....and where there are ways the gubbermint can spend to help create an economy....it's not happening. There are no plans on the table for that. It's tax and spend.
Russia is on a war economy with dwindling labor supplies. Their best and brightest left. Somewhere to the tune of 2 million people.
China is currently cash poor from worthless bonds in its market and has defaulted already. It's economy is in the dumpster as all big box stores have pulled their purchases over the Covid scandal as well as some other problems....so it can't help anyone.

Currently there is an oil glut in the market and everyone is pulling back on production. It's not just gasoline....petroleum makes a huge number of products from paint to pencils. And we currently have too much supply.
And so Russia can't sell enough oil and gas to fund its war...nor diamonds or nukes. It's economy was the same size as Nigeria. (It's not a joke) But it's shrinking from that.

Russia is crumbling at the seams....so is China except slower. China will survive the next year....Russia will not. When the Ruble isn't worth the paper it's printed on.....and it's close to that now. Russia certainly can't handle deflation.
I feel really bad for the russian people....especially the old ones and young. I hope they survive.

For the understanding....

One Yuan is equal to $0.142 USD

MEANING.... Russia has a couple million dollars left. Not enough to buy a new tank. Maybe enough to buy a Lexus....
