"Dixiecrats" refers to a total of two people. One of these people was South Carolina Governor Strom Thurmond. The other was Mississippi Governor Fielding Wright. This was a split-off political ballot that had walked out of the 1948 Democratic convention after hearing too much rhetoric about "civil rights" from the likes of incumbent President Harry Truman and the young mayor of Minneapolis Hubert Humphrey. They caucused and contrived to set themselves up on the ballots they could get on to oppose Truman and his Republican running mate Dewey. The strategy was, as is usual for third parties, to siphon off enough electoral votes so that neither Truman nor Dewey would amass the 266 votes needed to win, and thereby throw the election into the House of Representatives. In some of the states they even replaced Truman's name with Thurmond's.

This scheme was unsuccessful, and the "Dixiecrats" expired as a project. Thurmond and Wright served out their terms; Wright went back to law practice. Thurmond ran for Senator, but was kicked off the ballot by the state Democratic Party and had to run as a write-in, which he won out of his name recognition. The only purpose of these two "Dixiecrats" was to disrupt that specific election.

Reed), at 205 West Madison Street in Pulaski Tennessee, the office of Jones' father, Christmas 1865, not 66, BEFORE there was any postwar voting going on, BEFORE that state had rejoined the union, as a college fraternity-type activity modeled directly after Kuklos Adelphon, having no political purpose and its founders having no political affiliations, Tennessee having no political parties to affiliate with at the time anyway.

The DemNazi Trail of Tears which the GOP opposed but The DemNazis pushed through anyways for Indian Hater, and Black Man Hater, Jackson was not just the beginning of The Racist Legacy of The Democrat Party.

They were The British Loyalist in The South who opposed The Revolution because of rumblings there, that The New Constitution of America would allow for Emancipation of slaves. In fact, the early versions did have this, but The South would not join The Union until Emancipation was removed and delayed in a phased out process.

Very well then. Slavery predates every political party by literally thousands of years. Evidence of it abounds on every continent with the single exception of Antarctica. It was here in the Americas loooooooooooong before there was a country or any political parties. It's a social construct, not a political one.

Racism was invented to justify the European practice of TransAtlantic slavery, where the captured were shipped out to a land as foreign to them as being shipped to Mars would be to us. It was supposed to justify that human trafficking, which in turn was done to make profits. Again, this begins in the fifteenth century long before "Democrats", "Republicans", "Whigs" or any other political parties exist.

Fun facts: Four of the first five POTUSes and eleven overall, held slaves at some point. Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Jackson, Harrison, Tyler, Polk, Taylor, Johnson and Grant. Three Whigs, two Democrats, three Democratic-Republicans, one Republican and two with no party. Meanwhile POTUSes who actively opposed slavery pre-Civil War included the Adamses, van Buren, Fillmore, Pierce and Lincoln. Two Democrats, two Democratic-Republicans, one Whig, one Federalist and and one Republican.

Before the Civil War there were four Democrats elected President: van Buren, Polk, Pierce and Buchanan. Of these four only Polk owned slaves. Van Buren and Pierce denounced it but didn't consider the federal government to have the authority to inhibit it. Buchanan believed the same thing but was less vocal in denunciation. Three times as many Whig POTUSes owned slaves as Democrat ones.

And just to extend that fun fact, the Ku Klux Klan in 1924 endorsed Calvin Coolidge for President because he was the only major candidate who did not denounce them. KKK had tried to prevent denunciation from the Democratic convention but after their sycophants blocking vote after vote forcing dark horse Davis to the nomination, Davis then took the podium and denounced them. Four years later the Klan endorsed Hoover, running a national smear campaign against the Democrat Al Smith.
