Here's the thing: just because the governor and mayors do not have any confirmed reports of domesticated animals being stolen and eaten as food by recent illegal immigrants is not proof that it has not occurred. There have been reports in the Media, so some people have made that claim. Getting to the bottom of it would require someone with sufficient interest to talk to people "on the ground." Not holding my breath for that to happen.
