I like the idea of teaching kids about budgeting, taxes, investing etc, but algebra shouldn’t be dropped from the curriculum for it. My kids actually had a personal finance class in high school (yes, it cost me $80k to send 2 kids to a private high school). Maybe we can drop art history or pottery instead of algebra.

Maybe parents could do that with their kids like they should?

If you can understand algebra, than personal finance is easy to understand.

Unfortunately, many parents don’t even know.

That would be nice, assuming their parents were qualified to teach their kids about it. I heard over 75% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, so apparently most people are not qualified.

Why is this "either/or"
I know a math teacher who not only integrated business math into her 8th grade class,
but mentored her students to start their own businesses.

If you are going to gripe about something:
Why aren't GOVERNMENT classes teaching
Constitutional law and civics education?

That's important to teach students AND parents
how laws and govt work, not this nonsense of
depending on govt to manage social programs!

For those of you who support this idea, I suggest contacting your local school boards as many schools have the exact type of program you are advocating. Pretending it doesn't exist is just your own ignorance showing!

It obviously don't exist retarded one
