They don't give you life. But you give you the ability to conduct business by building the infrastructure you use every day in the furtherance of your business. Every road you drive on is built by your gov't. The GPS you use to navigate, system built by your gov't. The gov't has control over interstate commerce and everything you do every day. Why? We are a nation of laws, national, state and local. You agree to abide by them by living here. If you don't want to abide, leave.

Now, where a private employer does no business with the government, it is improper for the government to tell the employee that he or she must hire people of specific races. But if the employer does take government business, I see no problem with the government insisting that hiring be done without racial bias.
