Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson said Tuesday that he regrets signing a mask mandate ban into law. He has called a special session to amend the law for schools.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark — Governor Asa Hutchinson on Tuesday expressed regret for signing Act 1002 into Arkansas law. The new law bans the state and local officials from enacting any mask mandates.
During a press conference, Hutchinson answered questions about why he signed the proposal into law. He said that when he initially approved it a few months ago, both COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations were at a "low point" in Arkansas and were declining.

Now as the delta variant is causing a new wave in the state along with low vaccination rates, Hutchinson said that in hindsight he wishes that Act 1002 had not become law.

Tragic on so many levels....

Louisiana Congresswoman Julia Letlow lost her husband Luke in December, just weeks after he was elected to the same Congressional seat and before he could be sworn in. In an exclusive “CBS This Morning” interview, Letlow reflected on the loss of her late husband and shared a message for those who remain unvaccinated.

On December 18, 2020, Letlow announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Louisiana. He was hospitalized in Monroe.[14] After his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport on December 23.[15] On December 29, Letlow died of the virus at the age of 41.[3][14] The hospital reported that he had no underlying conditions when admitted but died in the ICU after suffering a "cardiac event" and could not be resuscitated.[16][17]

The governor regrets signing a law that outlaws government forcing people to do ineffective, even harmful, practices against their will?

Well, fuck that governor.
